Friday Things + Faves

Hi. I brought my laptop to bed with me last night with the intention of blogging…and then I snuggled Finn and watched Shameless instead. I’m always amazed by how tired I am by the end of the day even though it sometimes feels like I’m not doing a whole lot. My grandmother keeps reminding me how much energy I am giving to Finn throughout the day and also the energy required for breastfeeding. I am easily sleeping 8-9 hours a night these days where 5-7 used to be my norm.

It is a change for the better, for sure.

I’m drinking Mother’s Milk tea as I type this even though it’s 87 degrees in Charlotte. I’m willing fall weather to arrive but it’s taking its sweet time. I just saw on the news yesterday that we are having our hottest September on record in a VERY long time. Remind me of this when I am complaining about how cold it is in February! 🙂

I would really just like some slightly cooler weather for our daily walks. My team is struggling over here. Poor Sullie is REALLY ready for cooler walking conditions.

Some Friday things and faves to share.

BABIES + DOGS

Finn is all about the dogs these days. He loves watching them.

And the dogs are all about him! We had lunch at a friend’s house yesterday and her pup was so into Finn!

BAKING

I’ve been on quite the baking kick this week, which has been fun! I LOVE baking and have been so out of the habit of doing it. I made pumpkin apple bread (recipe soon), salted fudge brownies and my dad’s granola.

BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES

My grandmother asked me to buy bread and butter pickles when I was in Florida a couple of months ago and ever since then I haven’t been able to get enough. I’ve been adding them to my turkey sandwiches and the crunch and slight sweetness they provide is so good. These are some homemade pickles that I picked up at the farmers market. They also have turmeric in them!

POST-FEEDING CUDDLES + 4 MONTHS OLD

There is truly nothing better than a baby falling asleep on you after they eat. Soaking up these sweet moments as I know they are fleeting.

Also, Finn turned four months this week and he is just amazing. He’s such a roly poly, “talks” a LOT, has found his feet, smiles constantly, kicks his legs like a maniac, is laughing more and more and getting really expressive overall. We are having a lot of fun together. <3

RELAY TEAM GIVEAWAY

Head over to Instagram and enter to win a spot on the relay team I am doing with Emily Breeze for the Charlotte Marathon. The caveat? You have to push a stroller! 🙂

And that’s all I have for you today. Have the best weekend.

xoxo

Have you ever run a marathon relay?

Any favorite weird or different sandwich add-ons?

Baked anything lately? Any pumpkin baked goods yet?

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
