We haven’t really watched Idol at all this season but we just got sucked into the end of the season finale. I have a few thoughts on that.
- Carrie Underwood looked amazing.
- The lyrics to Beyonce’s new song, One Plus One, are hilarious. “I don’t know much about algebra but I know one plus one equals two.” Hmm….
- How did they get Bono on Idol!?
- Poor Steven Tyler.
I tweeted this tonight but who cares about Idol. I am so ridiculously excited about the season premier of So You Think You Can Dance!!!
Okay, so this post wasn’t meant to be a discussion on reality TV but rather something we’ve been missing here on Peanut Butter Runner…RUNNING! I am so ready to race again. I want to have races on my calendar and training plans to follow. I’m finally doing something about it. I’ve picked two races that I’m going to be training for over the next four months.
#1 River Bound Race Series 15k
The River Bound Race Series is a series of trail races that take place at the US National Whitewater Center right outside of Charlotte. This July 16 15k (10 miler) will be my first race distance since I set a half marathon PR in December AND it will be m first trail race!
#2 Asheville Citizen-Times Half Marathon
I love Asheville. The Asheville Citizen-Times Half Marathon is September 17. You might have guessed from the above elevation chart that I’m going to be running this one for fun and not to beat my current PR. There are so many great half marathons in our area in the fall so I’m hoping that this one kicks off race season and then I can work towards improving my half marathon time in subsequent races. I have two goals…first, sub 1:50 and then sub 1:45. Eek!!!
I’m so excited to get back out on the road. Call me crazy but I don’t mind training through the summer heat. I much prefer it to the cold dark of winter. I’ll be posting my training plans soon! 🙂
Do you have any summer or early fall races planned?
And quickly…a recap of today’s eats. Breakfast was banana and blueberry oatmeal and I came home for lunch.
An open faced sandwich on Great Harvest Honey Whole Wheat. The sandwich was mashed avocado, tomato, sprouts, spinach and muenster cheese. Cucumbers and carrots and bean salad on the side.
Dinner after teaching yoga tonight was a random fridge creation but very tasty.
I heated the bean salad mixture with a scrambled egg and spinach and made a quesadilla.
It was so good! If you’ve never tried adding scrambled eggs to quesadillas you are missing out.
And finally…for the workouts. Today ended up being an unplanned rest day and I am just fine with that.
Off to bed. Can’t believe tomorrow is Thursday. This very busy week is flying by!
