Good morning! I was up before the sun this morning to make sure I could fit in a blog update before I tackle my busy day. I love the quietness of early morning hours. It’s one of my favorite times to get writing/reading work done. I also love sunrise runs and hope to get back into those once the mornings get a bit warmer.
I woke up starving. The first thing I wanted was a bagel with cream cheese. And then I thought sushi sounded good. I think I need to combine the two later and have a sushi roll that includes cream cheese! Does anyone else ever have random cravings like this? I usually don’t – well at least not for food like sushi at 6 in the morning!
I did the responsible thing and made oatmeal instead of going out to buy bagels or being weird and eating sushi for breakfast. (I don’t even think you can buy sushi at 6 a.m….if you can I don’t think I would want it because it means it’s leftover from the previous day and that’s gross.) I wasn’t really in the mood for oatmeal so I tried to get creative with the mix.
In the pot…
Oats
Oat bran
Cinnamon
Salt
Chia seeds
Dried cranberries
Sliced banana
Milk
Water
On top…
Blueberries
Crofter’s Superfruit Spread
Almond butter
A sprinkling of pumpkin banana bread
I think it’s safe to say that this should get me through my morning.
Backing up to Tuesday now. I was nonstop from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. I taught three yoga classes and two yoga privates. By the time I arrived home after my last class, I couldn’t even stand anymore. My feet literally hurt!
I had a short break between my morning classes/clients and my afternoon commitments so I came home to blog, answer emails and eat lunch. I hoped to get a run in too but I was seriously lacking motivation and my inbox was overflowing. I did manage to make a pretty incredible salad with all sorts of random deliciousness from the fridge. Leftover tempeh with Island Soyaki Sauce, avocado, toasted pecans, goat cheese, carrots, apples, dried cranberries, mixed greens and spinach.
Since I blew off my morning run, I rushed home on an hour long break before teaching my last class and fit in a 25 minute run with Sullie. My body felt pretty lethargic yesterday and the run was a struggle but I was happy to get in a little bit of fresh air and exercise. Dinner after my last class of the day was balsamic roasted brussels sprouts with parmesan cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, millet and roasted chickpeas.
And then I ate two of Mama Pea’s no-bake cookies. Perfect end to the day.
Have an amazing day!
