Decide What To Be And Go Be It, Round 2

Two years ago today I announced that I was leaving my advertising job to pursue a career in fitness. The past two years have taken me from making training, teaching and blogging my living to accepting a full-time position as the general manager of Metro Fitness Club and Metro CrossFit. Each step of this journey has been meaningful and 100% completely worth it. I have never regretted my career change and there has not been a single day in the last two years that I have dreaded going into work. That is awesome.

But I’m not done yet. There is still this fire in me to keep growing, expanding and connecting. I’m so excited (and completely terrified) to announce that I’m launching a new website to support a dream that I’ve talked about for a long time. I love teaching, training and talking about helping people identify their passions and interests. So much so that I want to share it outside of Charlotte. I want to take this show on the road.

I would be extremely grateful if you checked out my new website and Facebook page. I am now booking yoga workshops, speaking engagements and fitness presentations through 2014. All the details can be found on my book me page. Also, this is the first site that I have built from scratch without my web guys to help me so I’m pretty proud. It was many hours in the making but totally worth it and something I felt like I just needed to do on my own.

I have participated in several goal setting workshops over the past couple years, the kind where you have to write down your one year, five year and 10 year vision. I don’t know if you’ve ever participated in this type of exercise but it’s pretty scary. I was comforted to discover that one of the only things that I was consistently 100% certain of was that I knew my #1 passion was teaching and that I wanted teach outside of Charlotte. I cannot even explain to you how on fire I am about sharing my experiences, knowledge and passions with others.

I want to come to all of your cities and teach, speak, train, talk, drink wine…anything! I see workshops, retreats, master classes and so much more on the horizon. I also want to train other teachers and am pursuing my EYRT and embarking on my 500-hour yoga teacher training certification so that in the near future I can lead teacher trainings and continuing education seminars.

Charlotte and Metro will always remain my home base but my soul craves deeper connection and new experiences. I so appreciate your continued support and look forward to continuing to share my career journey and evolution with you! And be sure to email me and connect me with your local studio if you want me to come teach in your city! 😉

THANK YOU! xoxoxo

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
