Misery + My First Must Have Box

I am a little bit miserable right now. I got stung by a yellow jacket on Monday when I was mowing the lawn (yes…you read that right) and while it really hurt for a couple of hours after I got stung, it seemed to be fine after the initial pain wore off. Well, I woke up in the middle of the night on Tuesday and it was itching like crazy. It’s now red, swollen and itching so badly that I want to claw my foot off. As soon as I finish this post I’m going to take a Benadryl and pray I pass out. I think this is the first bee sting I have had in 10+ years. It’s awful!

I attempted to distract myself from the agony with bread and sugar tonight. It sure did work while I was enjoying it! 🙂 That would be a pecan pie cupcake in the background with a piece of pecan pie baked into the batter! In the words of Rachel Zoe, “I die.”

So, changing gears. I feel like the whole “box” thing is really popular. It seems like there is a box for everything…fashion, beauty, dogs, food, shaving, etc. I have received many offers to try various boxes but I always pass.

Recently I was invited to try the PopSugar Must Have Box and I finally said yes. It’s a blend of beauty, fashion, food, home, fitness and more. Each box is worth over $250 retail but subscriptions are $39.95 per month.

I’m so glad that I did because it was packed with amazing things.

I loved this guide to the box. Here’s what was included…

– A Tilo Scarft
– Nicole Miller Earbuds
– Urban Remedy Almond Brownie
– Oribe Superfine Purse Hairspray (this stuff is awesome and smells so good!)
– Letter C Design Gold Foil Arrow Pencils
– Riffie Paper Co Stationary
– Nike Gift Card (a $20 gift card almost pays for the box itself!)
– Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate and Sea Salt Minis (I’ve eaten at least one of these every single day since the box arrived)

I think my favorite item from the box is the Tilo scarf. It is so, so soft and the perfect length for generous draping. It’s been nice for these first few fall days in North Carolina.

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
