Misery + My First Must Have Box

I am a little bit miserable right now. I got stung by a yellow jacket on Monday when I was mowing the lawn (yes…you read that right) and while it really hurt for a couple of hours after I got stung, it seemed to be fine after the initial pain wore off. Well, I woke up in the middle of the night on Tuesday and it was itching like crazy. It’s now red, swollen and itching so badly that I want to claw my foot off. As soon as I finish this post I’m going to take a Benadryl and pray I pass out. I think this is the first bee sting I have had in 10+ years. It’s awful!

I attempted to distract myself from the agony with bread and sugar tonight. It sure did work while I was enjoying it! 🙂 That would be a pecan pie cupcake in the background with a piece of pecan pie baked into the batter! In the words of Rachel Zoe, “I die.”

So, changing gears. I feel like the whole “box” thing is really popular. It seems like there is a box for everything…fashion, beauty, dogs, food, shaving, etc. I have received many offers to try various boxes but I always pass.

Recently I was invited to try the PopSugar Must Have Box and I finally said yes. It’s a blend of beauty, fashion, food, home, fitness and more. Each box is worth over $250 retail but subscriptions are $39.95 per month.

I’m so glad that I did because it was packed with amazing things.

I loved this guide to the box. Here’s what was included…

– A Tilo Scarft
– Nicole Miller Earbuds
– Urban Remedy Almond Brownie
– Oribe Superfine Purse Hairspray (this stuff is awesome and smells so good!)
– Letter C Design Gold Foil Arrow Pencils
– Riffie Paper Co Stationary
– Nike Gift Card (a $20 gift card almost pays for the box itself!)
– Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate and Sea Salt Minis (I’ve eaten at least one of these every single day since the box arrived)

I think my favorite item from the box is the Tilo scarf. It is so, so soft and the perfect length for generous draping. It’s been nice for these first few fall days in North Carolina.

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. I remember getting stung a couple of years ago and I’ve been deathly afraid of bees since then. I didn’t know PopSugar even offered a subscription service! How cool is that?! I’d love to try it but even with the discount it’s a little too much for me right now. 🙁 Maybe, one day!

I absolutely LOVE getting my birchbox every month. I seriously jump up and down and clap. I’ve thought about getting Toby, (my dog)the Barkbox, and I wish there was a tween type box… My daughter is so jealous of my birchbox every month! I even thought about calling birchbox and selling them my tween/teen idea for millions, but I keep forgetting. I love the contents of your popsugar box– I am going to try it out for three months! Thanks for the savings code!

How do you like those ear buds? What are some brands of headphones you used before these? Any favorites? Thanks! Have a great day 🙂

Put some baking soda tooth paste on it. It neutralize the sting. I stepped on a whole nest 2 years ago and got 30+ stings.

I love a good draping scarf! This looks like such a fun box… I’m going to check it out. I hope your sting feels better asap!

oh no! Yellow jacket sting? I hope you are feeling better by now.
I haven’t done a traditional “box” subscription yet, but I did get the Harry & David fruit of the month club for awhile as a gift. It was sooooo good! Amazing fruit right to your door. score!

A friend of mine got me PetBox when I adopted Lucy and it is really awesome…it’s probably the only box that I actually really like and truly use at the moment. The box is always packed with great treats, fun toys, and items I have used a lot of…i.e: doggie shampoo, poop bags, etc. 🙂

Yellow jacket stings are awful!! In high school, I was thrown off a horse and landed on a yellow jacket nest and stung multiple times. It was a miserable experience I got a cortisone shot the last time I was stung to help with the swelling and itching. I hope you feel better soon!

Sorry To hear about your bee sting. I have been following your yoga practice for Instagram and am truly inspired! I would love to attend one of your classes. What is your teaching schedule next week? Thank you.

Oh man. I totally feel you on the bee sting!! I got one on my foot this summer while I was on my honeymoon and it obviously didn’t total ruin my trip but it definitely made me miserable at times! That was the itchiest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. 4 nights in a row of waking up throughout the night wanting to claw off my foot. Clearly it was a little traumatizing haha. Hope yours stops bothering you soon!
