Hi…
I didn’t forget about you but at least I left you with a really amazing recipe. It’s been great to hear that some of you have already tried and loved the pad thai recipe. It’s one of my faves!
But about the last few days…I led my first Core Desire Yoga weekend intensive with my friend Dorie and it was kind of magical.
I’ll have a complete recap of the experience soon but it was everything we dreamed and hoped it would be and more.
But for now, I’ll quickly share the weekly workouts.
Monday
Hot yoga
Tuesday
Hot yoga
Wednesday
CrossFit
5 rounds for time:
10 hang snatch (55#)
6 barbell front lunges (#55)
10 hang cleans (55#)6 barbell front lunges (55#)
50 double unders
This was my first time doing a CrossFit WOD with other people in a good 3-4 months and HOLY CRAP. It was hard! I finished in a little over 20 minutes.
Thursday
4 mile run at 8:56 pace
Friday
Hot yoga
Saturday
3.5 mile run
This run was hard! I have slowed down a good bit since the half marathon and my average run pace is 8:30-8:55. I ran with my fiance on Saturday and he pushed me to run right under a sub 8 pace and I was dying a little! (But secretly loved the challenge) 🙂
It never ceases to amaze me how much my pace can improve when I really put my mind to training.
Sunday
CrossFit
5 rounds for time:
400 meter run
10 kettlebell swings (35#)
15 back squats (75#)
20 dumbbell snatches (20#, 10 each arm)
Took me about 25 minutes.
And finally, I’ve been planking. I am loving taking my own #UltimatePlankChallenge and it’s been crazy fun to see so many of my friends, family (family…the best!) and readers taking the challenge with me!
Have a great week!

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

I recently traveled to Big Bear Lake, California for the inaugural Big Bear Peaks + Pines three-day stage race hosted by TransRockies Running. This was my third TransRockies event in 12 months (see also Colorado + Moab) and I’m here to tell you that they can do no wrong when it comes to race organization [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
