Good morning friends! ๐Ÿ™‚ I set my alarm for 5:45 a.m. so that I could get up and get some work done before teaching at 8:15a and 10:30a (my only two classes of the week before I leave). I have a ton to get done today so I wanted to make it an early start.

Sullie…not quite a fan of the pre-dawn wakeup. This is how I just found her in the living room. She ate her breakfast and is now snoozing again…upside down.

If you’re catching up from late last week/the weekend, be sure to check out these three posts.

20-minute power yoga flow (this is a fully led video from yours truly and this post includes a $100 Visa gift card giveaway).

I answered a bunch of reader questions.

A big Friday post with all sorts of recent favorites from eats to things I’ve listened to to things I’m excited about and more.

And now for a quick weekend recap.

FRIDAY

veggie burger wrap with scrambled eggs

I have only this one photo to share from Friday evening! I had the Kino workshop from 6-8 and then got home around 8:45 p.m. We didn’t have much to work with so I made a wrap with a veggie burger and a scrambled egg. We were in bed by 10.

For those of you who missed my Friday Five post, I took a yoga workshop this weekend with Kino MacGregor.

SATURDAY

smoothie bowl

My day started with a smoothie bowl before heading off to the morning session of the Kino workshop.

We did full led Ashtanga primary series and it was challenging. While I used to have a regular Ashtanga practice, I let that go a few years ago and am definitely out of “Ashtanga shape” now. I’m not in any of Wanda’s photos from the workshop because I was tucked in a corner next to the door staying out of the way but you can see my amazing teacher Johnna Smith right there in the center of the photo in front of Kino.

We broke for lunch around 11 and I headed over to Dean & Deluca for a salad and to knock out some computer work.

The afternoon session resumed at one and we spent two hours talking about strength and working on drills for jump backs and jump throughs. We also touched on bhujapidasana and headstand as well.

You can read some of my takeaways from the Kino workshop in this post on Instagram.

I got home around 3:45p and immediately made myself a “second lunch” of kettle chips and sourdough with cashew butter, honey and banana. I parked it on the couch for about an hour and watched the UGA/FL game. GO DAWGS!

A little later it was time to get ready for our third annual Y2 Halloween Costume Party. Thank goodness for Virginia because she fully planned and executed our costumes! ๐Ÿ™‚ Can you guess what we were? Hint: it’s not playboy bunnies and if you read my Friday post I revealed it there.

namastay kitchen sushi

I scooted over to Namastay Kitchen shortly after arriving at the party for a quick dinner. I have been SO off of sushi lately but finally craving it the last few weeks. I ordered a shrimp tempura and crab roll with cucumber and avocado. It was my first sushi roll in probably four months and hit the spot.

I ate a couple Reese’s that I snagged from the party when I got home around 11 and called it a night. I am convinced that Reese’s cups are the best Halloween candy (well, and every holiday candy…I’ll take them in Santa form, pumpkin form, egg form, as a heart…whatever!).

SUNDAY

I woke up with a pancake craving on Sunday morning. Despite seeing so much love for Kodiak Cakes over the years on various blogs and Instagram feeds, I’d never tried the mix. I tend to prefer to spend the extra 5 minutes making my own batter versus using mixes for things like pancakes, cakes and brownies but I will admit that sometimes you can beat the simplicity of mixes!

Breakfast was blueberry pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs and grapefruit halves. The verdict on the Kodiak Cakes is that while I still prefer the homemade variety, I cannot complain about the taste or texture of these pancakes. They were really good!

(Here’s my favorite blueberry pancake recipe…and it’s dairy-free!)

I spent from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. cleaning and de-cluttering before taking off for a run. I had to run to the studio to teach at 4 because Tanner had taken my car. I enjoy having a destination to run to sometimes! Also, I enjoyed checking out everyone’s Halloween decorations. This house must have had 50 inflatables in their front yard.

The weather was perfect for running. 55, overcast and breezy. It felt so “fall-ish” outside and I had my first long-sleeved run!

PaleOMG pizza spaghetti pie

I taught yoga and then headed back home (in my car!) to make dinner and relax. Earlier in the day I had prepped the PaleOMG pizza spaghetti pie so I popped it into the oven to bake. This is one of our favorite dinners. Note: I always add mushrooms to mine so that’s the little dark spots you see.

After dinner we caught up on Good Doctor and This Is Us. First, we are loving Good Doctor so much and second, oh my gosh to Kate on This Is Us!

Zoey

Zoey wishes you a happy week. The end. <3

Did you dress up for Halloween over the weekend? If so, tell me about your costume!ย

What did you have for Sunday dinner?ย

Favorite Halloween candy?ย
