Happy Halloween! I’m on my way to Portland for an exciting partnership with Under Armour and Samsung that’s been named #firstsneverstop. It’s themed around “a journey of firsts” so I’m (nervously?) looking forward to discovering what’s in store for us!

They sent us a really cozy outfit to travel in – shoes, socks, compression tights (great for flying), a sports bra, t-shirt and jacket. I’m also armed with some cool new Samsung technology to try out!

I’m not sure if I’ll have time to live blog while I’m there (I’m thinking no) but be sure to follow along on Instagram stories where I will try to be as present as possible throughout my trip! I’ll be with Under Armour for the first couple of days and then Tanner is meeting me for a quick adventure with just the two of us! 🙂

(Just a note for transparency, Under Armour is generously covering travel and gear but I am not being compensated for the trip or any blog or social media posts.)

Switching gears…

SCARY SQUAT WORKOUT

Since today is the last day of #2000squatober AND it’s Halloween, I had to put together a “scary squat” workout for you. And this one is quite scary if I do say so myself. It features 22 reps of 4 different squat variations for a total of 88 squats which was the requirement to finish #2000squatober. Of course I also had to throw some cardio into the mix to spice it up!

Scary squat workout combining squat variations and cardio for a quick but intense workout.

It’s a crazy mix of squats and cardio that I know will leave you with jello legs and feeling breathless.

A few exercise notes on some that might be confusing or you might not be familiar with…

Prisoner squats – this is just an air squat with your hands behind your head. Really focus on keeping the chest lifted and gaze straight ahead.

Goblet squats – hold one weight at the chest (dumbbell, kettlebell or get creative with what you have at home!) as you squat. Again, chest up!

Broad jumps – If you have space you can string them together and do like 11 in one direction and turn around and 11 in the other. Tight on space? Simply jump one direction, turn around, jump back. Here’s a video!

Frog jumps – start in a plank position and jump both feet to the outside of your hands (right outside of pinky fingers), sink your butt down and lift your chest up when you land. Keep your hands on the floor. Jump back to plank. Do this amazing exercise 21 more times.

Plie squats – add weight if you’d like!

Speed skaters – watch this video.

Try it and report back to me!

SULLIE’S HALLOWEEN COSTUME

My grandmother is the BEST and she sent this lion costume for the girls. Zoey was having NONE of it but of course my sweet Sullie was like, “if this makes you happy mom…but I am not going to smile.”

Annnnndddd I may have bribed them with a cookie! 🙂

Okay, y’all have a great Halloween. Stay safe and eat all the Reese’s cups that your heart desires!

Favorite place in the continental US that you’ve traveled to? I’m pumped to see the Pacific Northwest. It’s been on my list for years!

If you HAD to choose…squats or push ups?

Have you ever dressed your dog up for Halloween?

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
