How’s everyone feeling after the time change? I have to admit that it was hard to get out of bed this morning when my alarm went off at 6:45 a.m. and it was still dark outside…and rainy…but I’ll take it for those extra hours of evening daylight!

This was the first weekend in over a month that I didn’t have teacher training and wasn’t traveling and it was so nice to have time to relax, rest and work on baby stuff. 🙂

turkey meatloaf, rice and brussels sprouts

Weekend nights aren’t especially wild or crazy at this stage of pregnancy and I am content to be home and on the couch. I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure after wrapping up my last class of the week on Friday and then came home to turkey meatloaf leftovers. I went with this color for my nails and love, love! Perfect for wishing spring to get here.

sushi

On Saturday morning I took a yoga class and then taught a yoga class. Lunch after class was SUSHI! I’ve been craving it for weeks. Don’t worry…I ate the cooked rolls. 😉

Saturday afternoon looked like a trip to The Container Store where we quickly discovered that any closet organization that they offer was way outside of what we were looking to spend given that we’re in a rental. Second stop was Home Depot where closet organization was MUCH cheaper! We also picked up trim paint for the nursery from Sherwin Williams.

tea and cookie

I had a cookie and a cup of tea when I got home from errand-running. I spent the next few hours going through all of the baby stuff we’ve received so far. This included a giant tub of the freaking cutest, sweetest baby boy clothes ever that one of my friends passed on to me. I think I “ohhhed” and “ahhhed” for a solid hour. I washed my first load of baby clothes. Ahhhh!

grilled cheese with pepperjack, fig preserves and avocado

I wrapped up my baby stuff around 8 and made a grilled cheese with avocado, fig preserves and pepper jack on sourdough.

golden retrievers begging

And then it was back to the couch where I rented the movie Wonder and had two begging goldens eying my grilled cheese. I read the book Wonder and loved it and I’m happy to report that the movie totally lived up to the book. I thought it was great.

I polished off this bag of kettle corn while watching the movie and I have to tell you…this stuff is delicious but buy at your own risk. I think I got 2-3 servings out of this bag that technically had 7 servings. Oops.

green smoothie

After grilled cheese and way too much popcorn on Saturday night, I woke up craving something cold and light on Sunday morning. I made a green smoothie and topped it with some homemade peanut butter granola.

homemade peanut butter granola

I used this recipe from my site for the granola! I also made a loaf of banana bread but it’s going to the trash. I tried to sub 1/4 of the flour with King Arthur white wheat and it just did not do any favors for the texture/density of the bread. I really don’t enjoy baking with wheat flour.

After breakfast I got ready to go teach prenatal. We had such a nice class. I’m working on filming prenatal flows to share with you guys in the coming months. I’m trying to knock out a ton of them while I’m actually pregnant and experiencing what it’s like to practice with a big belly!

Related, I put a call out yesterday on Instagram for any and all questions about prenatal yoga and got some great responses. I’m about halfway through writing that post and hoping to get it published on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Look out for that!

frozen pizza and salad

Sunday concluded with teaching one more yoga class at 4 and then showering up to go to a movie. Tanner and I went to see Black Panther in 3D and it was awesome. I really enjoyed the movie and so did baby boy…he was going totally nuts in my belly during the movie. Maybe it was all the sound/vibrations? At one point I had to get up and RUN to the bathroom despite the fact that I went three times before the movie because he was putting so much pressure on my bladder with his antics.

Back at home I made a frozen pizza from Trader Joe’s and a spinach salad. Oh and 81% of my followers on Instagram agree that pizza + ranch is a winning combination. This was Tessemae’s creamy ranch. YUM!

replace I'm sorry with thank you

I’ll end this post with the thought that I shared with my 8:15 yoga class this morning. I am the worst about constantly apologizing and qualifying so many things with “I’m sorry.” I love this reframing of it!

Favorite granola recipe? I want to try some new ones!

Pizza and ranch? Love it or leave it?

Did you watch any movies this weekend?
