Happy new week! I’ve been up since 4:30 a.m. I didn’t sleep well last night…I was hot and sweaty all night and had to make multiple bathroom trips. After the 4:30 a.m. wake-up, there was no going back to sleep. My mind was racing. (There’s kind of a lot on my mind these days…)

The plus side of this is that I have my weekend recap done nice and early for you guys!

FRIDAY

Friday brought another early wakeup. I think I was up at 5 on Friday and couldn’t go back to sleep. I had a big bowl of banana cottage cheese oatmeal for breakfast. Zoey approved.

I worked the morning away and then had a photo shoot with Scott Broome to capture some prenatal yoga images for upcoming posts. Thought I should get those done while I still have this belly! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lunch back at home was baby kale massaged with some olive oil, sea salt, lemon juice and a squeeze of honey and topped with strawberries, avocado, canned wild Alaskan salmon, pistachios and dried cranberries.

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that I was tired on Friday so I decided to do something I rarely do…nap! I’m not the best napper but on Friday I closed my eyes and was out for a solid hour. Zoey was a very cute wake-up helper.

The rest of my Friday afternoon/early evening looked like teaching yoga, walking the girls, reading in the bathtub and a charcoal face mask. It was pretty nice! Pardon the “frozen face” but you literally cannot move your face at all once the charcoal starts to dry!

Dinner was a panini with ham, salami, havarti, gouda and pesto on sourdough.

SATURDAY

Smoothie to start the day.

Followed by a trip to the Matthews Community Farmers Market. It was a quiet morning at the market and the vendors didn’t have a ton of produce but I did stock up on meats for the freezer.

Best story of the morning…I was walking by the Grateful Growers booth (they’re very well-known pork farmers in the area) and the woman who was working asked if I was pregnant. I said, “yes…due in about 3 weeks” and she asked if I ate pork. I replied, “yes, I eat everything.” And she offered me a free pound of breakfast sausage. She said it’s the, “pregnant lady sausage program” and they’ve been doing it for 12 years. What a nice gesture that made me smile!

Post-market and post-teaching hot yoga salad with kale, apples, pecans, apples, tomatoes, dried cranberries, avocado and feta.

Nail date with BFF Dorie followed by a trip to the mall. I never go to the mall but I’ve been in desperate need for some sandals. I ordered these Memphisito sandals and LOVED them but they just didn’t fit right. It broke my heart to send them back. I ended up with these rose gold sandals from Amazon at the recommendation of a friend and then got these Toms and these silver slides at Nordstrom. I think I’m set on sandals now! Gold, silver and multi-colored! ๐Ÿ™‚

It was a gorgeous day so I sat on the back patio when I got home and read The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding for an hour. It’s such a good book!

The evening concluded with a dog walk and pizza on the couch. I always love Hawthorne’s but they did something special to the pizza on Saturday night. It was the best it’s ever been!

SUNDAY

Smoothies to start Sunday morning (details on the pink blend on Instagram) followed by blog post writing and more dog walking. Trying to walk this baby on down into the right position! ๐Ÿ™‚

Ham and avocado sandwich post-walk. The big activity of Sunday was our baby shower at the studio with our staff and students. With over 100 people RSVPd, I knew I should eat before the event because talking would make it hard to eat during. I’m glad I did!

The shower was wonderful and I’ll share more details tomorrow in my 37 week update!

Back at home we had a lot of gifts to open. (The shower was a drop-in so we didn’t open gifts during it…it would have been too much!)

It was about 9 p.m. by the time we opened, recorded, organized and put everything away. I had a slice of leftover pizza and a salad along with half a slice of coconut cake from Laurel Market while watching the movie Ant Man.

And then it was bed and a book! ๐Ÿ™‚ I just started The Last Mrs. Parrish. Has anyone read it?

What was the highlight of your weekend?ย

Favorite pizza toppings? Do you like a white base or a red base?ย (I loved our half and half combo! Best of both worlds!)

When was the last time you were on the receiving end of a random act of kindness?ย
