Happy end of the week guys. We made it. This was my first full week back in Charlotte and it was rough at first but got better as the days went on. In this post, I want to share some snapshots from the week along with a really cool experience I had today with salt room therapy.

The Best Babysitters

My girls are just the sweetest with Finn.

They are almost always in the same room as me and Finn, even if that’s the bathroom. (Three’s a crowd! :P) P.S. We are still LOVING the DockATot over here. Finn does so well in it!

Evening Walks

We have been all about the late evening walks over here this week. I don’t think we’ve walked before 7 p.m. a single night due to the heat.

The bonus of walking so late is beautiful skies. We’ve also had some crazy afternoon/evening storms this week that have made for cooler late evening walking conditions.

TLC

salon 42 charlotte

I got my hair cut for the first time in about six months on Wednesday. I also had color done while I was there. Finn had to come with me but luckily he was super chill. He LOVED looking at all of the salon lights. The owner has done my cut and color for over eight years and he and his wife were super accommodating. They let me use their office to feed Finn while my color was processing. I don’t plan to bring him along again but it was super helpful to be able to bring him along to this appointment. I go to Salon 42 if you’re local and I see Jason.

Cookie Baking

I baked chocolate chip cookies for some of my neighbors this week. It was a fun feel good project. I love baking for other people! I also took some to a friend of mine today when I stopped by her house to visit.

And of course I have done my fair share of sampling. I ate three yesterday and two today! YUM!

Bedtime Routine

I’ve been settling into a new bedtime routine that involves a meditation/devotion, writing in a gratitude journal and then reading. It’s a great way to end the day on a good note.

I received so many questions on Instagram about what book this came from. It’s Streams in the Desert and was gifted to me shortly after my brother passed. I love the devotional.

My First Salt Room Experience

salt therapy charlotte

My friend Wanda invited me to lunch today and suggested a salt room appointment after. Since I’d never tried halotherapy, I agreed!

She took me to The Salt Pad here in Charlotte. Salt therapy is known for its benefits to the respiratory system and can help skin conditions like eczema, acne and psoriasis. It’s can also help with anxiety and depression.

I sat in a super comfy recliner in a room with Himalayan sea salt covering the floor as micron-sized salt particles were pumped into the room by a machine called a Halogenerator. The lights were low and there was soft music playing. You are encouraged to relax and nap if you’d like. I tried to spend the session focusing on my breath and meditation.

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and I would definitely go again!

And that wraps it up for today!

Have you ever been to a salt room?

Favorite daily meditation/devotion book?

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks!
