Our Thursday at 13 Weeks + A Visitor

It’s a happy Friday here because my mom is here to spend a week with me and Finn. 🙂 Speaking of Mr. Finn…he’s 13 weeks old today! Craziness. I think now seems the time to transition to saying he’s “3 months” instead of the number of weeks when people ask how old he is?

Here’s what we did yesterday in a very relaxed day in the life style of post.

Finn usually sleeps until 8-8:30 but on Thursday he was up around 6:45 a.m. I had an early breakfast of two scrambled eggs, a sliced peach and a piece of buttered sourdough toast.

Next up was a walk! Since the forecast called for temperatures in the 90s, I wanted to beat the heat and get our walk done early. We hit the trails and greenway for just under 3 miles.

When we arrived back it was time to get ready to go to the airport to pick up my mom.

Amelie's Charlotte Lunch

Our first stop upon her arrival was Amelie’s where we enjoyed a nice lunch spread + some sweet treats.

I ordered half a turkey and brie on a croissant with a side salad.

amelie's macaron

And a blackberry basil macaron. I also had a little slice of my mom’s eclair.

Back at home we had a very lazy afternoon of lounging around the house and watching Finn be cute. He took an awesome late afternoon/early evening nap that started on me. Always the sweetest thing ever.

While he slept, I was able to cook a yummy dinner for us using the eggplant I had from my weekend farmers market trip. You can never go wrong with eggplant parmesan!

The finished product! I served it over spaghetti with a sprinkle of fresh basil.

We took a post-dinner walk around the block and then did Finn’s bath and PJ routine. We finished the night on the couch with ice cream and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which I started again from the beginning so my mom could see it because it’s so good.

Even after his long afternoon/evening nap, Finn fell asleep around 9 p.m. and minus two feedings in the night, slept until 8:30 a.m. this morning. I call that a BIG win!

TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
