Yoga Weekend in Hershey

I’m sitting in the Harrisburg, PA airport waiting for my (delayed) flight back to Charlotte. It’s actually been not the worst thing to sit in an airport restaurant restaurant, eat and unwind but I am ready to be home with my girls and my boy.

This weekend’s training at Studio B Power Yoga was so wonderful. I flew in on Friday afternoon to lead a weekend of their 200-hour teacher training. The theme of the weekend was elevating your class experiences through hands-on assists, vocal quality, assists, energy, presence and more. I also taught two public power yoga classes.

I connected with Brittany Holtz, owner of Studio B Power Yoga, years and years ago through blogging, yoga and fitness. I first partnered with her two years ago when I traveled to Harrisburg, PA to lead a weekend workshop at her studio. In the time since that last workshop she has acquired a third studio in Hershey and she invited me to lead one of her teacher training weekends for her current 200-hour training. I will travel back to Hershey in March for another weekend workshop and then Brittany and I are leading a yoga and fitness retreat in Jamaica this summer. JOIN US! 🙂

Brittany picked me up from the airport on Friday and we grabbed dinner before I settled in for the night. I had a cup of soup and a grilled chicken salad that came with a lemon poppyseed loaf.

duck donuts

I had intentions of working out on Saturday morning but instead I slept in and got a donut and coffee instead. There was a Duck Donuts right next to my hotel.

On both Saturday and Sunday mornings I taught hot power classes that were open to the public. Both sold out at 60 full mats. I was so grateful for the enthusiasm and support of this community! They were so great.

It was also very exciting to have quite a few long-time blog readers and fellow yoga teachers travel to Hershey for the training (the weekend was open to other yoga teachers for continuing education hours). After following Pamela and Ashley for so long, it was LOVELY to meet them in person!

poke bowl

We broke for lunch on Saturday and I enjoyed my first every poke bowl. Given my love for sushi, rice bowl and meals in bowls with a lot going on, I really enjoyed it!

We spent the rest of the day taking a deep dive in to assisting. We were all happily exhausted by the end of the day.

the mill hershey

On Saturday night I met Ashley out for dinner at The Mill and we shared a delicious dinner with great conversation. I loved finally meeting this girl in person! We shared a crispy Brussels sprouts appetizer and then I had a crispy duck dish as my entree.

Back at the hotel I had dreams of being productive and getting work done but I was crazy tired. I got in bed at 9 p.m. and didn’t even turn on the TV or the iPad. I read for a few minutes before passing out around 9:30. Once again, I had dreams of working out in the morning but I slept until almost 8 a.m.! I guess I needed the rest.

starbucks oatmeal

I grabbed a soy latte and oatmeal at Starbucks before arriving at the studio for day two of training.

I led another class and then a full day of training before heading to the airport this evening.

Heading home with a heart full of love and gratitude. And so ready to crash into my bed.

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks!
