Valentine’s Day: Lady Boss Love

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I want to celebrate some women that I LOVE who are doing amazing things. I just finished reading the most amazing book by Katherine Center, How to Walk Away. It was a fiction book but full of insightful wisdom. I shared one of my favorite passages on Instagram but another is this one.

“When you don’t know what to do for yourself, do something for somebody else.”

While I finally do feel like I am in a space of knowing what to do for myself these days, I am feeling so called to do for others. So I want to spread some love to other women who are out there DOING IT. <3

THE BATCHMAKER

Can we talk about how amazing this woman is? I met Cristina through Instagram. She was part of our #Zero2Run Stroller Team for the Charlotte Marathon. Cristina is a crazy talented baker and I just got my first Batch Box from her last weekend. If you’re in the Charlotte area and in search of special treats or custom orders, please consider Cristina.

GIRL TRIBE

My friends Sarah and Carrie have established such a dynamic and dialed-in business in Charlotte and beyond. Their mission is to support female entrepreneurs through pop-up shopping events and a local retail store. These two totally “get it” when it comes to business relationships. They might kill me for saying this but they even go to therapy together sometimes. Can we just all take a moment to acknowledge how hard it is to go into business with a partner? These two are doing it beautifully.

FAT LOSS FOODIES

Okay, can we all take a moment to honor how freaking impossible it is to make heads or tails of nutrition on the internet and Instagram? I’m here to telly you that my friend Leslie Anne has it down as far as I’m concerned. She’s all about a balanced approach and teaching women how to be confident in the kitchen and not scared of food. If you need some guidance on a real and sustainable approach to food, I have zero reservations about sending you Leslie Anne’s way.

I love this lady! Please check out her offerings, including her Fat Loss Cooking School.

ERIN MCDERMOTT JEWELRY

I have been working with Erin McDermott basically since I started Peanut Butter Runner. Erin makes stunning jewelry while also balancing being a mom to three beautiful girls. Every time I see Erin I am filled with inspiration and leave with a smile on my face. She is so talented while also full of humility and grace.

Erin has graciously offered all of you 25% off anything on her site with code PBR. You deserve a Valentine’s treat! 🙂

A SPACE FOR KATE

Because I can’t summarize it any better, here is my friend Dana’s story…

“Our story: January 4th my mom passed after fighting stage IV lung cancer. She leaves behind me (graphic designer/ yogi) and Kate. Kate is my 30 year old MAGICAL sister! By society, she might be classified as “special needs.” But for those who look closely, you can see the world needs more Kate. She has so many gifts. Her heart is huge, her hugs are soft, her laughter =infectious! And she is an organization QUEEN! Her closet is art!
My vision is how can I translate this into a working space for her? She loves organizing- who needs this in their lives?”

If you live in the Charlotte area and are in need of organizational services, please consider A Space for Kate.

HEATHER CHRISTOPHER TRAVEL

Oh my gosh, I have known Heather Christopher for years through the online world and she is my GO TO when it comes to all things travel. Whether you are trying to plan a family getaway, a honeymoon or a yoga retreat (or anything in between!), Heather is your girl. I know that working with a travel agent can seem outdated but trust me, Heather’s team truly takes the headache out of travel. They are amazing.

DORIE MORTGAGE

How can I let Valentine’s Day pass by without recognizing my BFF Dorie. This might seem out of left field for my normal content but if you find yourself in need of help when it comes to all things mortgages, you’d be amiss not to speak with Dorie. I can honestly say that she has never met a stranger and will totally treat you with the respect that she would a close friend. She’s awesome like that. 😉

Please please please drop a comment below telling us about a woman you admire who is out there DOING IT and deserves recognition and support!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
