Shopping at ALDI + My Tuesday

I have made it onto the couch with my feet up after a bit of a crazy 24 hours. Remember how I said that Finn had a bit of a cold? Well, despite him being in a great mood all day yesterday, eating normally and going down for bed with no problem, he woke up crying around 9:30p. I let him cry for 5-10 mins thinking he was just in between sleep cycles. Well, I went in to check on him and he had thrown up all over himself and the crib! It was so sad and I felt so guilty for not checking on him sooner.

I stripped him and me down (because I was covered in throw up from picking him up) and we hopped in the shower to get cleaned up. I put him down in my bed and then got his crib stripped and our clothes washing. Luckily, he hasn’t thrown up again and was a happy baby today, albeit a snotty one. I was able to get a last minute sub for my class this morning so that I could keep him at home.

I’m not sure why he threw up, I’m thinking maybe it was the drainage once he laid down? Has this happened to any of you? Gosh, I know that all of this is par for the course with having little ones but it doesn’t make it easy. Last night was the first time that he’s ever thrown up. (As opposed to spitting up…which we are very familiar with!)

Despite the fact that I went to ALDI on Sunday and stocked up on groceries, I had a grilled cheese for dinner tonight. It was honestly all that sounded good to me. I was craving comfort food! Also, I had a kale salad for lunch and I feel like any time I eat kale salad that I have a pass on my next meal. Haha.

So…let’s talk about my ALDI shopping haul for today’s post! It was a pretty impressive shopping trip.

My history with ALDI began five years ago when I was invited to visit their headquarters in Illinois. I have truly been a fan ever since and trips to ALDI have been a in my regular rotation! That being said, y’all know I am a fan of ALL the grocery stores! I just love them and have my favorites at all of them whether it’s Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, Publix, Trader Joe’s or ALDI.

What I love and appreciate so much about ALDI right now is how they are growing and expanding, improving their store experience while maintaining low prices and continuing to grow their organic and healthy options. They just opened a new store really close to me and it’s amazing!

Don’t miss this post from the archives, Learning the ALDI Secrets, where I share some fo the strategies that ALDI uses to keep their prices low. It’s pretty fascinating!

I’m going to share everything that I bought on Sunday along with what I paid for it! I think you have to see the prices to really appreciate ALDI’s value for the quality. Note, this is not sponsored…I have truly been converted to a brand fan!
