A Gift of a Good Week

Good morning and happy weekend. I set my alarm early so that I could get up and check in here before heading off to the first full day of my spring/summer 200-hour yoga teacher training at Charlotte Yoga.

This week passed in a blur of trying to spend as much time at home and with Sullie as possible while also teaching classes, working on projects and partnerships, preparing for teacher training and taking care of Finn.

This post is going to be quick and casual but here are some snapshots from my iPhone from the week.

Overall, the week felt like an incredible gift. Never in a million years did I expect to get this time with Sullie and for the time to be so good. She has completely exceeded mine and the vet’s expectations and is doing really well. Granted, that can change literally at any minute but I feel blessed.

I have been shocked that she’s asked to go out for walks with us this week. I give her the option of staying or going and she’s been enthusiastically lining up with the crew at the front door. I’ve been keeping our walks short and slooooowww.

And Sullie has enjoyed stopping (many, many times) to smell the roses. Haha.

I’m still cooking all of her meals! This is sweet potato, pumpkin, banana and cottage cheese scrambled eggs.

Finn is very into the dogs right now. I am really working with him on being gentle and not climbing all over them (especially Sullie!).

But oh my gosh, it makes my heart so happy to have these three together and loving on each other.

Speaking of Finn…he’s a ton of fun right now. Into everything! Loving opening and closing the blinds, turning lights on and off, helping me “sort” laundry and pulling clothes out of drawers, pulling tissues out of the box and much, much more.

Serious question. I sent my mom this photo and she told me Finn needed a haircut before his first birthday. When do you do baby’s first haircut???

Next Saturday HE WILL BE ONE!!!!!!!!!

A quick note on the fitness front…this was a good week! I got in three runs (5, 4, 4) and two strength workouts. Zoey came with me on two of the runs. I’m trying to get back in a groove of running with her because she needs the exercise from an energy expenditure standpoint. She’s also a chowhound and eats any and everything she can find so homegirl also needs to run to burn off those extra calories from eating things like a whole bag of dental chews and a whole loaf of bread stolen off the counter. She has to go in for her annual vet check next month and I know we are going to get “the talk” about Zoey’s weight.

Side note…my strength workouts were both classes that I taught and I was insanely sore after them. Always good when you kick your own butt!

I wish I could keep chatting but my TT starts in 45 minutes and I need to quickly shower, get packed for the morning and out the door. We go from 8a to 6p today. I am going to come home at lunch to check on Sullie but I’m a little stressed about leaving them all day.

We had our intro session for TT last night and my group is wonderful! I am beyond excited and honored to be working with them and I’m looking forward to a weekend of learning and getting to know each other!

Have the best weekend friends. xo

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
