Finn and I are journeying home today. Can’t say I’m looking forward to that airport trek with crutches and wheelchairs again but it was worth it to be with my fam for the week.

It’s been a gorgeous week at the beach but I have only been able to enjoy it from the balcony as I cannot get wet, sandy or sweaty.

Finn, on the other hand, has had a great time with lots of water time and plenty of people to play with.

He had his first splash pad experience and loved it! Now that he’s walking well, this is a great activity for him! We have several great splash pads in Charlotte and I can’t wait to take him once I can get wet. I like that he can be more independent and doesn’t have to be held the whole time like he does in the pool.

Of course he has his Mema wrapped around his finger and I find them like this all the time.

Now that he’s walking well, I can also let him down on the balcony to walk around. This is so nice because we can be outside and he’s contained. Of course we watch him like a hawk but the balconies here are really sturdy and don’t have large openings.

The best part about our unexpected visit is that we overlapped one night with my cousin and her baby boy Wayland! He’s eight months old and it was me and Finn’s first time meeting him.

The last time I saw my aunt and my cousin was at my baby shower well over a year ago! The crazy thing is that she shared with me that weekend that she thought she might be pregnant…and here we are with baby boys six months apart. I think I’ve shared this before but between me, my cousin and her brother’s wife…there were three baby boys born in 2018!!!

And finally, it had been too long since I made a trip to The Donut Hole for donuts so Finn and I ventured out early to grab a box of treats, An apple fritter (the size of Finn’s head…seriously!) and sour cream cake donuts for us, a selection of muffins for my grandmother. She likes to put them in her freezer!

SUMMER WORKOUT + CHILL PLAYLISTS

Changing gears here, I’ve been working on summer workout and chill playlists for you guys for over a month. They are ready to share! Both feature over 4 hours of music. The workout playlist will motivate you through your sweatiest summer runs and gym sessions. I love to have the chill playlist on in the background while I’m working or cooking.

FOLLOW ME ON SPOTIFY

I used to share monthly workout playlists on my blog but I’m transitioning that to a quarterly frequency. BUT if you are looking for fresh new music as often as I am, definitely follow me on Spotify. I put playlists together every week for my yoga and strength classes. You’ll find hundreds of playlists on my Spotify account.

How do you listen to music? Apple Music? Spotify? Pandora? Something else?

What’s your favorite kind of donut?

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
