Happy Friday friends. I hope you had a great Halloween!

Sadly, we didn’t get to participate in any neighborhood Halloween festivities because we had a 5p flight to Florida but we ended up not missing much. My neighbor friends told me it stormed from 5:30-7:30p so the normal Halloween fun didn’t really happen. It was a hard call to decide to travel on Halloween but it was the only weekend that I could make work to see my family in the span of like eight weeks. I also figured that Finn wouldn’t really understand Halloween this year. He did hang out all day in a baby shark one piece that his father dressed him in.

I just have to flashback to last year’s Halloween. We’ve come a long way in one year on many levels. <3

FALL ACTIVITIES

Finn and I did take a fun fall outing to the pumpkin patch earlier this week.

He enjoyed the wide open space to run around, watching other kids and checking out this tractor.

We also took a hay ride which was really cute and Finn actually sat still in my lap for the 15 minute ride…which was a miracle. Still is probably his least favorite thing right now. Haha.

I really love fall and the transition into the holiday season. I’m excited that today is November 1 and for all that is to come in the next two months.

DEN REFRESH

I have a room in my house that I call my den. It’s separate from my living room and a space where I have my office, where we watch TV and where Finn plays. It was a huge project for me before Finn was born and worth the work because we spend a ton of time in this room!

My den was in need of a refresh. Toys were taking over and the rug was getting a bit less gray and more griege, despite multiple cleanings.

Toy takeover, TV wires a mess and dingy carpet.

The team at Ruggable reached out and offered to send me a new rug for any space in my house. I immediately thought DEN! I picked out my rug and when it arrived, I had the task of taking apart my sectional, laying the rug and getting the furniture back in place. Let me tell you, that was an endeavor. I was in a full body sweat.

Ruggable rugs come in two pieces. On the bottom is a non-slip rug pad and on top is a lightweight, low-pile rug cover. The super cool thing about the Ruggable system is that you can easily remove the rug cover and it’s washable! In your own washing machine! Even the 8×10 size that I got can fit in the washer. This is a dream for life with dogs and toddlers.

I did not think through getting the rug back under the couch very well and tried propping the couch up on stools and yoga blocks. I ended up having to take the sectional apart again, laying the rug and then moving the furniture back on top. It was a fun afternoon.

And let’s not even talk about getting the old rug and rug pad out of there. I rolled it out of my house like a boulder. It felt like a CrossFit workout.

The end result was 100% worth the effort! I ADORE the new rug!

And while I still have a lot of Finn’s toys lined up in front of the fireplace, I did clean up all of the TV wires and add some cubby storage.

I’m totally at peace with this space being a hybrid playroom/office/TV room.

He approves. 🙂

Exciting news: Ruggable is offering my readers 15% off with code FUNPBRUNNER15. Just use this link to shop for your rug. They come in sizes all the way from runners to 8×10!

And now I’m off to enjoy the weekend with my fam! Hope y’all have a great one too.

QUESTIONS

What did you do for Halloween? Did you dress up? What did your kids dress up as?

How do you handle toy management/storage? Especially in shared spaces.
