WHOLE for the Holidays

Hello time change. I’ve been up since the early hour of 4:30a with my little guy. We are feeling the “fall back” extra thanks to already being on CST here in Florida. I just keep telling myself that it’s really like 6:30a on my body’s clock as I sip my coffee.

But really, I don’t mind early mornings at the beach one bit. We’ve been up for the sunrise every morning since we’ve been here and it’s been so sweet and peaceful. I’ll have a full recap of our weekend for you tomorrow but for today I wanted to share an event that I’m hosting in Charlotte, and gauge your interest in an online version.

WHOLE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The minute the calendar turned to November 1, the holiday season arrived in full force. Personally, I really enjoy the holiday season and all of the warmth, cheer and festivity that comes with it. That being said, it can be a challenging time of year for many reasons.

Perhaps it’s your first holiday season since losing a loved one. Maybe you deal with difficult family dynamics that are heightened during these times. It might be a time of transition in your life. Maybe your job requires working long hours through the holiday season and/or working on actual holidays. Food/body struggles can come to the forefront during the holidays when food and drinks seem to be the focus of almost every get together. This list could go on and on.

I am partnering with my friend Lyndsay Paige to offer a Whole for the Holidays workshop. We will be sharing tools and practices for feeling whole and staying grounded through the holiday season. Lyndsay and I will lead participants through a yoga practice designed to settle the nervous system, a grounding meditation and discussion about how to best take care of yourself on both a physical and emotional level through the holidays.

You may remember Lyndsay from when she presented in my 200-hour teacher training at Charlotte Yoga over the summer and from my recent post on digestion. She is a Certified Ayurvedic Wellness Coach who studied with Katie Silcox at The Shakti School. Lyndsay also has a degree in Health Education and Nutrition from App State.

Workshop participants will leave with:

  • A personalized plan for self-care through the holidays including daily routines to help you feel your best from the inside out
  • Access to a recording of the guided meditation taught in the workshop
  • The ability to stream the yoga practice so that you can do at home or wherever your holiday travels take you

We will be making recordings of the meditation and yoga practice that we teach in the workshop so that you have the ability to repeat them as often as you need through the holidays (and beyond!).

REGISTER NOW!

The workshop will be held at VIBE5 Yoga and Fitness on Saturday, November 30 from 5-7p. Note, this will not be a power or sweaty yoga practice so you will be good to take off straight from the workshop to do dinner or whatever else you have planned for your evening! You do not need to be a member or practice at VIBE5 to attend, we are just using the space. It’s conveniently located in SouthPark near Barnes and Noble and Earth Fare.

Here’s the link to register on Lyndsay’s website. Registration is $35 prior to the workshop and $40 day of.

ONLINE OPTION

Lyndsay and I have been throwing around the idea of offering an online version of our workshop through a Zoom meeting. It would be a shorter 60 or 90 minute session that would mostly focus on the lecture, guided self-care activities and meditation. All online participants would also receive the meditation recording and link to stream the yoga practice.

Let me know if that is something you are interested in. We would probably schedule it for December 1 or 2 in the evening.

I’m also open to any other ideas, requests, suggestions you have for helping to support you guys through the holidays!

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
