TGIF friends. I hope that this post finds you dry and warm. What a scary and difficult week it’s been for so many dealing with the impacts of winter storms. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to offer assistance to those struggling, here’s a message from Brene Brown’s Instagram. She is a Texan whose recommendation I trust deeply.

“I’m supporting the Episcopal Relief & Development Fund during this crisis. They are working across the state with many different organizations to bring food, warmth, and shelter to people in need. The minimum donation is $5 — which makes a bigger difference than you think. Also, here’s the answer to the question I always ask: 92 cents from each dollar goes directly to aid.”

(Note, I had to use Chrome to make my donation. Safari didn’t seem to like the Captcha for some reason.)

I’ve got this cutie with me for the weekend and couldn’t be happier about it. His nanny took the day off today so we’re enjoying a “Finn and mommy” Friday. That being said, I’ve been working on this post in small increments all day and I’m finally finishing it at 8:30p now that Finn is asleep!

He asked for pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast (which he ate) and then also drank half my smoothie. I am complaining ZERO because it was full of spinach, cauliflower rice and fruit. Last night he excitedly ate green beans. Maybe we’re turning a corner on his feelings towards fruits and veggies!? (I will keep my expectations low, haha.)

perfect balance tot time

Since the weather has been wet and cold and Finn has been cooped most of this week, we headed over to the gymnastics gym this morning for Tot Time so that he could run, jump, play and get some energy out. He had a blast and went straight down for his nap when we got home.

jurassic quest dinosaur show

This afternoon we accepted an invitation to join a friend to see the Jurassic Quest drive-thru event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It’s a traveling dinosaur show with over 100 animatronic dinosaurs from the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic Periods.  I can honestly say I didn’t know there were so many different dinosaurs and Finn had a great time!

guide craft kitchen helper

Finn is still OBSESSED with his Cars color changers and I got hime a second one this week, Cola. I fill up one bowl with ice water and the other with warm water and he will spend 30 minutes moving the cars from one bowl to the other to change the colors.

100% highly recommend the color changer cars for any little one who’s into cars or the movie Cars. I can’t find the individual cars to link to on Target’s website but they have a good selection in store. I also got Finn this Color Change Car Wash and I’m giving it to him over the weekend. He’s going to lose his mind.

Related, we have used the Guidecraft Kitchen Helper every day since we got it. Game changer, kicking myself that I waited a year too long.

wooden rainbow stacking toy

While on the subject of cars and toys, I got home one day this week to find this creation that Finn and his nanny had built. We love this wooden rainbow stacking toy and she had him put toys in there that corresponded with the colors of the rainbow.

wana wellness

Moving onto adult topics…I have been probably the slowest person ever to join the CBD train. I received a box from Wana Wellness with hemp gummies and a fast-acting hemp tincture and might I say that I am a fan? I won’t gush over the benefits of CBD at this point but it’s been interesting to finally try them. I would be VERY interested to hear you guys experience with CBD. It’s definitely something I’m considering for Benji!

levain bakery frozen cookie

I impulse purchased these frozen Levain Bakery cookies this week at Harris Teeter for the cool price of $8. I’ve only tried one cookie and while it was okay, nothing will ever live up to the actual Levain Bakery fresh cookie. The frozen ones are smaller (which in my book is a good thing!). I cooked mine in my Ninja Foodi Oven for a few minutes following package instructions to heat it and melt the chocolate a bit.

If you’re in the market for some new music may I recommend this playlist I created on Spotify?

Here’s another good one. Link here.

erin mcdermott heart earrings

I ordered these heart studs from my sweet friend Erin McDermott pre-Valentine’s Day. They are simple, understated and perfect for daily wear. Also, I haven’t worn earrings in my second hole in…gosh…10+ years (pretty sure that’s something I convinced my grandmother to let me do in my teens!). Recently I re-pierced that hole on my own (it wasn’t a big deal) and I’ve loved wearing a super tiny stud in my second hole lately. I really like studs in general given my occupation and current life stage.

QUESTIONS

Do you use/have you used any CBD products? What about for your pets?

Do you have any piercings other than the traditional ear piercing?

What do you have planned this weekend?
