12 Current Beauty Must-Haves

For the last month or so the notion to write a blog post about my current favorite beauty products has kept popping into my head. I always love receiving product recommendations from friends so I hope you guys will appreciate these from me. I don’t blog a lot about beauty or fashion but when I do you can be sure that I personally stand behind what I’m recommending!

Today we’re going from hair to makeup to washing it all off. My recommendations range from very inexpensive drugstore products to a few higher end products. I hope you find this helpful and I look forward to receiving your recommendations as well!

BUMBLE AND BUMBLE HAIRDRESSER’S INVISIBLE OIL SOFT TEXTURE FINISHING SPRAY

bumble and bumble hairdresser's invisible oil soft texture finishing spray

My stylist recommended this texturizing spray at my brunette balayage appointment when we were discussing curling hair. This is a finishing mist that gives your hair some light texture and hold. It’s like a light tousled feel and does not look as finished as hairspray. Bonus: I love how it smells!

REVISION SKINCARE INTELLISHADE ORIGINAL

revision skincare intellishade original

I think I’m on my fourth tube of this tinted moisturizer that is so much more than a tinted moisturizer. Intellishade Original is a 5-in-1 daily anti-aging tinted moisturizer with SPF 45. It’s formulated to correct, protect, conceal, brighten and hydrate your skin. What I like about it is that it’s super lightweight and perfect to give me light coverage during the day while I’m out and about with Finn, teaching yoga, running errands, etc. I wear a heavier coverage hydrating foundation when I go out at night.

LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICKS

Laura mercier caviar stick

I am OBSESSED with Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks! I have been buying them for years. I recently restocked on a few new colors and I’m using them all the time. They are extremely easy-to-use cream eye shadow sticks. They are available in so many different colors and with creamy shimmer, matte and chrome finishes. They are richly pigmented and buildable and feature 12-hour wear with no creasing or transferring. Right now I have khaki, rose gold, amethyst and moonlight.

Caviar Sticks are a little pricy but there is truly not another comparable product that you can get cheaper. I’ve searched for copycats on all the beauty Reddits and blogs and everyone agrees that these are the gold standard for eyeshadow sticks. Some of the most popular shades are available in a mini size for only $14 so that’s a great way to try a few shades with less commitment.

NYX EPIC INK LINER

NYX epic ink liner

I am not skilled with liquid liner but this one makes applying it a breeze! It gives me a smooth and seamless line every time and allows me to easily control the thickness. Other product highlights are that it’s waterproof, cruelty-free and a vegan formula.

MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL SKY HIGH MASCARA

maybelline sky high mascara

Confession: I am a mascara addict and I’m always on the hunt for the perfect mascara to give me both length and volume. I had heard so much about this one (I don’t have TikTok but I think it went viral there?) and it was hard to find for a while. When I finally snagged a tube, my favorite thing about it was the brush. Definitely great for minimizing clumps and getting a very detailed application. Pro tip: I always buy waterproof mascara because I think it “holds” so much better after you curl your lashes (always heat my eyelash curler with my blow dryer for a few seconds).

Definitely a fan of this mascara and rotating it in with my other current fave, L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise.

UP & UP OIL-FREE EYE MAKEUP REMOVER

up and up oil free eye makeup remover

Let’s talk about getting all of this eye makeup off! You guys, I love Lancome’s Bifacil eye makeup remover but it’s pricy. I recently picked up this $4 eye makeup remover from Target and it definitely does the job right!

NARS ORGASM X BLUSH

When I want an extra pop of color or something a little more dramatic with my blush, I turn to my NARS Orgasm X blush. It’s a coral shade with gold shimmer. It’s really nice on darker/olive/tan skin.

LA ROCHE POSAY TOLERIANE HYDRATING GENTLE CLEANSER

la roche posa hydrating gentle cleanser

I’ve tried a lot of drugstore face washes and this is one of the best ones that I’ve experienced. Sometimes I shower 3-4 times a day if I’m teaching a lot and working out. I want to wash my face every time but not with a heavy-duty cleaner that strips my skin. This face wash is an awesome all-around gentle cleanser for normal to dry skin that removes makeup, dirt and impurities while  leaving my skin feeling hydrated.

BEAUTY COUNTER COUNTERSUN DAILY SHEER DEFENSE

beauty counter countersun daily sheer defense

While I am not on the Beauty Counter bandwagon, I adore this daily broad spectrum sunblock for my face. I ordered this from my friend Teri who is a Beauty Counter guru. I told her to pick something for me that would be great for everyday wear during the summer while I’m out on runs, at the pool, playing with Finn, etc. It’s super lightweight and leaves no chalky residue behind.

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
