Hello and happy weekend from eastern Tennessee! I am back at Vidya Yoga + Fitness (yes, we had a name change for trademark reasons as we grow!) for the first weekend of our FOURTH 200-hour yoga teacher training (read about our first one and how I got involved here)!!! What an honor it’s been to work for this amazing studio for the last three years. I love this yoga community and respect its leadership so much. I am filled with joy and inspiration every time I am here!

Finn oversaw packing operations on Friday morning. I told him I had to go to Tennessee for work and he insisted that I needed to fly in an airplane and not drive in my car. I have the funniest video with his commentary.

Packing for these teacher training weekends is so easy. I have made 25+ trips up here at this point so I have it all down to a science. I literally only bring workout clothes and pajamas unless we have a Saturday evening social event. I think it took me 15 minutes to get my clothes and toiletries in my bag this time. FYI, I am OBSESSED with these soft lounge bras. I don’t wear them to workout but I live in them for casual cozy wear. It’s the blue bra that you see above. My favorite sports bra is lululemon’s Free to be Wild Bra.

food prep for travel

It takes me longer to prep and pack my food than it does my clothes. I always try to bring my lunch for the road on Friday, my Friday night dinner because we go late that night, breakfast for Saturday and Sunday and snacks.

I planned to get to the hotel early enough on Friday to get a quick HIIT strength workout done in the gym. The hotel that I stay at has a nice and spacious gym with treadmills and weights that let me get workouts in when I have the energy for it.

I squeezed a LOT of work into the 30 minute window that I had. I thought you guys would love to try this workout so I made a graphic you could save.

There are nine two-movement supersets. I did each superset three times before moving to the next and it took me about 30 minutes…I was hustling and I am sore today! This is a super efficient and challenging workout. It features a blend of dumbbell and bodyweight movements and you’ll get tons of upper body, lower body and core work in!

Today (Saturday) was a long but awesome day of training. I just ate an Uber Eats dinner of sushi and edamame and I’m watching a silly movie in bed to decompress and relax before we do it all again tomorrow and I drive back home.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

QUESTIONS

Are you an early packer or a last-minute packer?

Do you ever pack food when you travel?

PLEASE share movie recs if you’ve watched anything decent lately!

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]

Potato and Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Potato and Broccoli Cheddar Soup

This potato and broccoli cheddar soup is a warm hug in a bowl. It’s a mash up of potato soup meets broccoli cheddar soup, and makes for a creamy, hearty and cheesy bowl that has just enough broccoli in it to make you feel like you’re getting your veggies in for a complete meal. POTATO [...]

Goodbye Sweet Zoey

Goodbye Sweet Zoey

I am sitting down to write this post with teary eyes and a heavy heart. On New Year’s Eve we said goodbye to Zoey. It seems like only yesterday that I brought this fluffy nugget home. Many of you have been here with me since Zoey was a puppy. She was the sweetest little sister [...]
