Halloweekend

Hello, hello. Halloween weekend was just the best. Finn had so much fun, the weather was great and the Dawgs beat Florida to keep our #1 spot.

three year old halloween costume

Finn was all over the place when it came to what he wanted to be for Halloween. We ended up taking a trip to a local costume store on Saturday afternoon for a last-minute costume change. He picked Woody from Toy Story 4 and it ended up being so perfect. He walked around all evening saying, “Yeehaw boy!”

His dad picked him up a little before 4p and he spent a couple hours over there doing some early trick or treating and pizza eating. He came home to me around 6p ready to continue the Halloween festivities.

Finn was the best little Halloween host and immediately jumped in to greeting all the kids that were coming up to our house. He would say “trick or treat” to them and then put a piece of candy in their buckets.

It wasn’t too long before he was asking to take off to do some more trick or treating. We headed down our street and had so much fun circling the block. There were a lot of kids and families out and it all felt very festive. I have loved Halloween in our neighborhood since Finn’s first.

Finn was outgoing, enthusiastic, happy and polite. It was incredibly fun to watch and I was so proud of my sweet boy.

When I finally convinced him that it was time to shut it down and head home, he couldn’t wait to check out all of his candy.

I am thrilled to report that he follows in his mama’s footsteps and Reese’s is his favorite candy. 🙂

Halloween scavenger hunt

Other weekend activities included a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt walk.

And the pups had some Halloween-themed grooming. Zoey’s spider bows were just too much.

Here’s Benji in his Halloween bandana. The dogs did surprisingly well on Halloween night. I set up the candy on a tray table on the front walk so there wasn’t any doorbell ringing. I put the dogs in a back room so they couldn’t see out onto the street and they were pretty chill.

Day after Halloween activities were pretty chill. I taught a yoga class at 10:45a and then went for a much-needed run. The weather was perfect for it.

I relieved our nanny at 2p and spent the afternoon doing some work and hanging out with Finn. It was so nice out that we spent two hours in the backyard! Finn thought it was fun to scoop handfuls of dirt onto freshly groomed Zoey. Insert face palm emoji here because they both found it great fun.

pumpkin muffins

I wrapped up the evening with my first pumpkin baked good of the season, a bowl of chili and the first episode of the new Bachelorette on Hulu while I type this post.

And that’s all from me for today! Have a great week!

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]

Potato and Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Potato and Broccoli Cheddar Soup

This potato and broccoli cheddar soup is a warm hug in a bowl. It’s a mash up of potato soup meets broccoli cheddar soup, and makes for a creamy, hearty and cheesy bowl that has just enough broccoli in it to make you feel like you’re getting your veggies in for a complete meal. POTATO [...]

Goodbye Sweet Zoey

I am sitting down to write this post with teary eyes and a heavy heart. On New Year’s Eve we said goodbye to Zoey. It seems like only yesterday that I brought this fluffy nugget home. Many of you have been here with me since Zoey was a puppy. She was the sweetest little sister [...]
