Today has been a great day! It’s been really rainy and gloomy here (like, we were under a flood watch rainy) but I’m still full of smiles and energy. 😀
No AM workout today. Oatmeal at my desk.
Oats, blueberries, banana, dried cranberry, cinnamon, pinch salt, almond milk, water, chia seeds. Topped with almond butter and Crofter’s. Nothing new here!
I had fun lunch plans to meet the Charlotte lululemon crew at 300 East. The east coast community manager is in town visiting, attending a lot of classes and meeting with local fitness lovers. She couldn’t make it to one of my classes so we decided to grab lunch instead.
This salad was really delicious. Mixed greens, dried apricots, roasted beets, pecans, blue cheese and pears with a shallot vinaigrette.
Imagine my surprise when our server showed up with this…
lululemon is opening a retail store in Charlotte in the coming months (they currently just have a showroom) and they asked me at lunch (with this fun dessert) if I would continue my ambassadorship with them as they transition to the retail store. Of course, I said yes. I love working with them to continue making Charlotte a healthier and happier city!
After a crazy, crazy afternoon at work, I met back up with the lululemon team for a cardio strength class at the Y with Becky – one of the toughest instructors in Charlotte. (If any of my class members are reading this…Becky loves pushups more than me…if that’s even possible! ;)) About a million pushups, mountain climbers, squats and box jumps later, I left class very tired and sweaty. I love attending other instructors classes!
I was not hungry at all for dinner tonight, which is really rare for me. I went with something that always sounds good to me – peanut butter and honey toast. I had a pear on the side. Simple and good.
I spent two hours tonight working on yoga teacher training homework.
I had to write out a 90 minute power yoga class as well as identify 10 pose/counterposes. It took forever to write out the flow because I had to keep getting up and trying it to see if it flowed. What you see isn’t the final (I changed a few things when I was typing it out) but close. I’m pretty happy with it!
I asked this on Twitter but I would love to get your feedback here too. What poses are “must haves” in yoga classes. What do you need to feel like your practice is complete? I would love to know for future class planning! 🙂
