It’s been a long day and I’m happy to finally have some down time. I just finished dinner…which I ate after 9 p.m. for the third night in a row. We eat pretty late in general but these super late dinners are not sitting well in my stomach when I get in bed and then have to get up at 5 a.m. Hoping to get that under control soon.
I say that and then Brandon just came home from his bowling league with half of a Mellow Mushroom pizza and I definitely just ate a small slice. Sigh…it’s 10:30 p.m. I have no willpower when it comes to pizza. It was worth it. 😉
I was up at 5:30 a.m. to teach yoga with weights at Flex + Fit. It took every ounce of motivation I had to make it out of bed. I’ve been really tired today for some reason. I ended up taking a rest day (when I teach yoga, I don’t practice with them). A large cup of strong black coffee and some overnight oats helped me snap out of it when I got to work.
Brandon and I came home for lunch. We stopped at Great Harvest on the way home to pick up a loaf of Whole Grain Goodness. I made a veggie sandwich with herb mayo, cucumbers, avocado, tomato and spinach.
We have a Great Harvest bread card. When you buy six loaves you get a free cookie and 12 gets you a free loaf. Today was free cookie day! Brandon suggested peanut butter chocolate chip and it was soooooo good. We split it – lunch dessert was a nice treat.
I got some sad news late this afternoon. Our family dog passed away. His health had been declining the past few months.
Big Foot joined our family in fall 1998. Our local barbecue joint had a sign outside, “Buy a pound of barbecue and get a free puppy.” (Remember, I am from a small town!) My parents were in the market for a new puppy so Big Foot came home with us…he was a little fur ball with really big feet, thus the name.
These pictures were taken when Sullie was about four months old and we took her home to meet Big Foot for the first time. Look how tiny she was in comparison to him. He was almost 14 when he passed away. He was a great family pet with a wonderful personality and we will all miss him so much. Gosh, it’s so hard to lose a family pet. 🙁
I taught an evening hot vinyasa class at Y2 and then came home and made a gigantic salad.
Spinach and mixed greens with peppers, celery, carrots, avocado, almonds, feta, dried cranberries, cucumber and a Trader Joe’s Masala Burger with homemade honey balsamic.
Off to read in bed. I’m not setting an alarm for an early workout tomorrow. Shooting for eight hours to recharge my batteries.
