I hope it’s been a good weekend for y’all. Mine was pretty low-key but perfect. Lots of yoga, a baby shower, two nights spent relaxing on the couch and incredible weather.
What was not so incredible about my weekend was my laptop deciding it was time to go to computer heaven on Saturday night. I took it in to the Geek Squad as soon as Best Buy opened today (because you know I can’t live without a computer) and they told me it would cost $350 to repair it. Since it’s a few years old, I decided that it’s probably best just to get a new one rather than invest a lot in the old one.
So, apparently I’m in the market for a new laptop. I asked for suggestions on Facebook and every single person replied, “MAC, MAC, MAC!” but I am hesitant to spend that much when I can get a PC for half the price. Any thoughts? Input? Recommendations for PCs?
Moving on…
My Sunday morning was spent in the yoga studio. I got there early to practice ashtanga before teaching the 9:15 hot class. In between my practice and teaching, I inhaled this Hungry Bar that Emily sent me from her new business, Bluebird Bakery. Emily sent me a big package of bars and brownies to sample so I’ll have a full review soon. I will tell you that I was extremely pleased with my first Hungry Bar!
After my disappointing trip to the Geek Squad, I consoled myself with a peanut butter, honey and banana sandwich. Pretzels + apples with cinnamon on the side.
After lunch, I had an internal debate about whether to stay home and get things done around the house or head back to the studio for the afternoon hot class. Yoga wins every time. And it was totally worth it – I had an amazing practice.
When I got home from yoga Sullie and I waited for Brandon to return home from a weekend in the mountains hiking and camping with a group of guys. I had not heard from him since he left at 6 a.m. Saturday morning and I was getting a little worried. Clearly, so was Sullie!
When Brandon finally arrived home he requested fish tacos for dinner. I used our favorite recipe and served black beans and a salad on the side.
Now it is time for bed. Tomorrow starts another week with a bang – 6 a.m. BodyPump and a special visitor arrives! Stay tuned. 🙂

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

I recently traveled to Big Bear Lake, California for the inaugural Big Bear Peaks + Pines three-day stage race hosted by TransRockies Running. This was my third TransRockies event in 12 months (see also Colorado + Moab) and I’m here to tell you that they can do no wrong when it comes to race organization [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
