A Story We Tell

I am getting a very late start on blogging tonight but for good reasons. Most of you know that Tuesdays are my crazy days so there was no time during the day for any computer work and tonight I was invited to a Landmark Seminar with a friend. The seminar was part of a 10-week series she is attending but she is encouraged to bring guests.

I won’t go into a ton of detail about Landmark but they offer educational programs to help people achieve extraordinary lives.

You start out by attending a three-day event called The Landmark Forum:
The Landmark Forum is specifically designed to bring about positive and permanent shifts in the quality of your life. These shifts are the direct cause for a new and unique kind of freedom and power—the freedom to be absolutely at ease no matter what the circumstance, the power to be in action effectively in those areas that are important to you.

And then after the forum you are encouraged to attend a 10-week seminar on a topic that is relevant to your life. A bit of continuing education, I guess. I am not going to launch into a whole recap of tonight’s seminar but here is what I left with…

Our view of ourselves is just a story with tell over and over. Let go of the view of yourself. See what becomes available when you let go of that view. We had to write down how we see ourselves, how family perceives us and finally how friends do. It was pretty rough and reminded me of something we’d have done in teacher training!

And with that we will transition into lighter topics!

I stopped by Energy Cafe for lunch between a yoga class and private. I had carrot ginger soup and a build your own salad with tons of good toppings.

Dinner tonight when I finally arrived home around 10:15 was a quesadilla with avocado, spinach, scrambled egg and whit cheddar. Sour cream and salsa on the inside once it was all cooked up. I accidentally bought full-fat sour cream and it is life changing. Soooo good!

I ended up taking a rest day because there was just no time to exercise. I can barely keep my eyes open as I type this so it is time to crash. Tomorrow is just as crazy as today…if not even worse! The good news is that I have some seriously exciting things in the works and I cannot wait to get you all up to speed soon!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
