I had a great Saturday but no time to slow down and post. It was pretty much full of my most favorite things – teaching yoga, taking yoga, hanging out with the pup, baking, shopping and drinks with friends.
My alarm went off at the very early hour of 6 a.m. since I had to sub the morning classes at Y2. I made a quick breakfast of a piece of the pumpkin banana bread with Justin’s Maple Almond Butter and banana slices.
The classes were amazing and I taught 88 yogis between the two! It was intensely hot in the studio yesterday (most likely due to it being really humid outside) and I could see my students giving their practice everything they had. I kept reminding them of this quote that I pinned last week, “If it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you.”
I was starving after I finished teaching. It felt like I was the one who had been practicing! I wanted to eat a lighter lunch because I was taking a master class from my favorite teacher a couple of hours later so I made a salad. That’s tofu on top.
Then I decided to bake cookies and drink an espresso. Perfect fuel for a two-hour yoga practice, right? I made oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate, dried cherries and coconut.
So while I sweated my life away in Suzanne’s master class at Charlotte Yoga, Sullie hung out at Bark Street and got bathed and groomed. I thought it would be fun to post a before and after of both of us! 😉
Before…I’m looking somewhat presentable. Sullie is looking a little rough. I can’t believe I caught her with one eye closed like this. So cute.
After…Sullie is the one looking good and I’m a sweaty disaster. My clothes were drenched. I spent five hours in 100-degree yoga studios over the course of the day! I would like to point out the cuteness level of Sullie’s feet. Notice in the before picture that they’re a little grinch-ish and then in the after picture they look like little marshmallows. I can’t stop smiling at her.
I had a few miscellaneous snacks after yoga (another cookie, a kombucha and some cheese and crackers) and went to the mall. I’ve been dying for a pair of black jeans and I finally found some at Gap.
I was out and about last night. My first stop was Jackalope Jack’s to meet up with the crew from Metro for drinks to celebrate a birthday. I am so lucky to be working with fun and awesome people! My second stop was Zink for drinks and apps with some yoga friends. I finally made it home around 11:30 and promptly collapsed into bed since I had to teach early this morning.
