It was a low-key weekend in Charlotte and just what I needed in preparation for a busy April. Here are the highlights in photos.
Saturday lunch. Trader Joe’s Masala burger on an English muffin with avocado, spinach, cheddar, sprouts and ketchup.
Finishing up the 7-day green smoothie challenge.
Sullie gets a bath. And is grumpy about it after.
Pedicure, magazines and wine was necessary for Saturday evening recovery after a long day of housework and surviving the hottest yoga class of my life.
Roasted veggie, sweet potatoes and tempeh.
Plated with goat cheese on the taters.
Sunday breakfast before teaching hot class.
Rediscovered an old favorite song and played it in savasana. Everyone loved. It’s beautiful.
Sunday brunch ready to be wrapped up.
Breakfast burrito with a scrambled egg, Morningstar spicy “sausage,” sautéed spinach and peppers, pepper jack, avocado, sour cream and salsa in a whole wheat tortilla. So good.
I ran 5.5 miles this afternoon. Longest run in months and it felt great.
Tried a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. It was a winner. (Run and bake cookies…it’s what I do!)
Ended my Sunday on my mat. I skipped all of the classes that I normal attend in favor of a solo ashtanga practice. I did about 30 minutes of a power mixed class and then moved to the other room to do primary series. It was perfect.
I hope your weekend was what you wanted it to be. Happy April. It’s a new month and an opportunity for fresh starts and new goals.
