Oh man…it’s been a heavy workout day and I am so happy to be sitting down right now. Before I launch into all the details, here is a look at last night’s dinner.
Grilled okra, grilled king clip and brown rice. After dinner I was able to tame my sweet tooth and avoid dessert. I did have a glass of red wine instead though! 😉
I was starving when I woke up this morning so I immediately made breakfast. I also treated myself to coffee (I’ve gone all week without!). Breakfast was peanut butter, honey and banana on toast and sliced fresh strawberries from yesterday’s farmer’s market haul.
I quickly finalized my playlist and class plan and then headed over to Y2 to teach the Sunday morning hot class. It was one of those classes where the energy was really amazing. I’m not sure what creates this energy but I felt on and clearly my yogis did too. I had quite a few people talk to me after class and tell me it was one of “those classes” and comment on how great their practice felt.
And I must share two songs that I discovered through Pandora and added to my playlist for the seated floor work.
I love music.
I went to Metro to do the 12:30 p.m. CrossFit class. We had our first paleo potluck today and the Workout of the Day looked awesome so I didn’t want to miss out.
Well, I was right. The WOD was awesome but it completely kicked my ass. We did this workout with a partner. We started with walking lunges while holding a sandbag. While one partner lunged, the other had to hold a plank. Then we moved on to 100 abmat sit ups (50 each), a combined 1,000 meter row and 100 kettle bell swings (50 each). It was SO hard.
My partner and I ended up with the fastest time by one second! There was a lot of encouragement and pushing involved. I love participating in classes and working out with the members!
Sweaty group pic post-WOD. Everyone rocked the workout.
We were all ready for some food after that killer workout. We had a nice little spread of paleo almond biscuits, turkey meatloaf, fruit salad, baba ganoush and sliced fresh peppers. We’re doing paleo potlucks after the Sunday class during the 30-day paleo challenge. And while I am not going 100% paleo, I am modifying my diet a bit and eating as clean as possible to support them. We have over 25 people doing the challenge!
My plate + more fruit and baba ganoush. We discussed how tough the WOD was while we ate and everyone commented that they were a little shaky as they were trying to eat their food.
I did about an hour of a hot yoga class when I left Metro just to stretch out a bit. Now I’m off to down some Mexican food with a group from work.
Head over to the Peanut Butter Runner Facebook page to post your weekend workouts or let me know what you did in the comments. One last thing, be sure to check in tomorrow for a big post! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
