Hi everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. This update is going to have to be quick because I am on a one hour limit with Internet access and have a very early morning.
Today was the first day of CrossFit Endurance training and wow…do I ever have SO much to share with you! Unfortunately, I can’t delve into all of it now but stay tuned for a post early next week with a recap of my experience and then subsequent posts about all the things I’ve learned. Today we covered the Pose Running technique along with many drills to reinforce it, discussed fueling and also touched on injury prevention and treatment. We finished our day with a tough partner Workout of the Day that featured lots of running and burpees. I’ll have all the details for you soon, promise!
It’s been an interesting experience so far. I immediately noticed that I was in the minority by a) not following a strict paleo diet and b) not wearing a minimalist running shoe. Oh well!
In the meantime, here’s a look at today’s eats and fun activities.
I ran out of time this morning (surprise, surprise) so had to make due with what I had in my room for breakfast. That ended up being coffee and a banana with peanut butter. After last night’s Mexican feast, this was more than enough to hold me over.
We worked the morning away and finally broke for lunch around 12:45. A big group of us just went over to Publix (a grocery store) to get salads and sandwiches. Well, the paleo crew bought salads, chicken barbecue and such and I ordered a turkey wrap. In the wrap went Boar’s Head turkey, tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, banana peppers, peppers and hot and honey mustard. The spicy mustard made my nose run!

And split a giant bowl of fruit with someone else.
Sean and I were exhausted but wanted to get our toes in the sand and feet in the water after training. We headed out to the beach for a little bit to take advantage of it while we could.
After showering and changing it was cocktail + food time. They planned a “social” for all of us to meet at a local seafood restaurant.
We had over 20 people come out for dinner. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone we’d been working with all day.
We were seated inside but I ventured out to check out the amazing patio and scenic views. I love the low country.
I was so excited to be eating at a seafood restaurant! I started out with a house side salad.
For my entree I went with the broiled combination and had broiled scallops and flounder. Stone ground grits and green beans on the side. This dinner totally hit the spot.
Must rest. Marathon day tomorrow! Early AM workout, all day training and driving back to CLT.
