Pool And Prosecco

I’m back to the grind after a fun and relaxed Memorial Day. I was up and in the office working on the new website at 7 a.m. this morning but being able to take yesterday off and relax was totally worth it. Since I slept through my chance to go to a morning yoga class on Monday, I went for a run instead.

And of course I waited until noon to go and nearly died because it was so hot and humid. I love running in the heat but this was a tough run. I got a little over 5 miles in but it was a struggle. I picked up Sullie for the last mile and then walked a bit. Had she not needed the exercise, I would have called it quits at 4. The bonus was that I wore the new Armour Bra by Under Armour that I was recently sent to test and it was awesome. I’ll have a full review for you soon!

I threw together a salad after my run as I was making a dip to take to the pool party (that featured avocados, surprise!). The salad held me over until I arrived at the party where I spent the rest of the afternoon alternating between beer, chips and dip and prosecco. It was perfection.

There was a moment around 5 p.m. that I contemplated heading home to shower and take my sweet yoga student, friend and recent teacher training graduate, Maddie’s new 7:15 hot vinyasa class at Y2 (it was her FIRST class!)…

But then I was delivered a glass of prosecco and any chance of yoga happening went down the drain. I was just too relaxed and comfortable.

The party was awesome. There was a floating dog.

And a cute 7-week old baby that I spent at least 45 minutes snuggling with.

I left around 7:30 and picked up take-out on my way home. Tofu and vegetables with steamed brown rice. The rest of the evening was spent on the couch with mindless entertainment, The Bachelorette. It is so terrible this season. I am kind of disappointed. I wanted Charlotte to have a better showing.

One last thing for my Charlotte-area readers. Dave Romanelli will be visiting Y2 Yoga this weekend to host wine, chocolate and yoga workshops.

If your life is going way too fast and a weekend of simple pleasures would do you right…check out David Romanelli’s upcoming events at Y2 Yoga taking place June 1 and 2. David fuses flowing vinyasa yoga with exotic Vosges Chocolate, fine wine, and rockin tunes to remind you: “Life is just a series of moments. If you miss the moments, you miss your life.”

He’ll be leading three different workshops – you can attend one or all three! Get more info and sign up here. And check out this video Dave made for us.

Have a great (short!) week!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
