I had been craving a bagel all week and it was once again the first thing on my mind when I woke up this morning. I decided that Saturday morning bagel and coffee sounded nice so off I went, in all my bed head glory, to pick up a bagel.

I got a honey grain bagel and brought it home to toast and top. I did one side with cream cheese and the other with jam. It was as good as I hoped!

True to my usual Saturday routine, I hit up the farmers market after a yoga class. I was so excited to see cherries and blackberries at todays market.

For some reason the farmers market always makes me crave a salad for lunch. Mixed greens, spinach, cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, toasted walnuts, tempeh, blue cheese, avocado and dried cranberries with balsamic vinaigrette.

Washed down with this new (to me) sparkling water that I picked up at the grocery a few days ago. Love the bubbles.

I went into the gym for a couple of hours this afternoon to get some work done. There is SO much to do in preparation of next week’s opening of our second location. While I was there I ate a Picky Bar that one of the members left on my desk for me to try after reading about how much I liked Hungry Bars. I liked the Picky Bars. They are more Larabar-esque. They are vegan, gluten and dairy free and every bar has 198 calories, 6g fat, 28g carbohydrate, 7g protein and 2-3g of soluble fiber.
I am squeezing in some fun today too. I had coffee with a friend this afternoon and we spent a long time chatting and catching up. Now I’m off for a bowling outing. Wish me luck because I am a terrible, terrible bowler. It’s seriously embarrassing! 🙂
Bowling…love it or hate it? I still enjoy it even though I’m so bad at it. I just laugh at myself.

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

I recently traveled to Big Bear Lake, California for the inaugural Big Bear Peaks + Pines three-day stage race hosted by TransRockies Running. This was my third TransRockies event in 12 months (see also Colorado + Moab) and I’m here to tell you that they can do no wrong when it comes to race organization [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
