Impulse Buys

I have been pretty worthless today. I slept really late, ate a lot of sweets and blew off working out. It was perfect…and needed! I had a really low-key weekend, highlights being subbing some yoga classes, cleaning and moving furniture and restocking on the food front. I showed you my farmers market finds yesterday. Today I stopped by the grocery and ended up with some impulse buys.

First up, grapefruit juice. I rarely keep juice in the house because it’s so high in sugar but I will occasionally buy orange or cranberry juice. Don’t ask me why grapefruit juice sounded so appealing but I brought it home and immediately poured a glass. So refreshing!

Next up, Ben & Jerry’s Greek Frozen Yogurt and Van’s Waffles. I just tried the frozen yogurt and it is so good. Tangy but really sweet. I got the banana peanut butter flavor (of course) and the peanut butter swirls are the best part! I can’t even tell you the last time I bought frozen waffles but I’m needing some different breakfast options and I’ve heard good things about the Van’s Waffles. I’m envisioning them with almond or peanut butter and bananas.

I’m such a creature of habit so I’m excited about today’s purchases. Do you impulse buy? Have you tried anything new and noteworthy lately?

While we are on the topic of impulses. I got a polish change yesterday and decided to finally embrace the one sparkly nail trend. Thanks Pinterest! I love it. 🙂

My one nutritious meal of the day was a salad for lunch. Spinach, broccoli slaw, farmers market tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, carrots, nuts, feta and dried cranberries.

I baked these blueberry crumb bars yesterday and ate quite a few as I was photographing them. Recipe soon!

Sushi dinner.

Sullie wishes you a good week. May you play, love and be happy!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
