This Is How You Do A Monday

Thanks for all the input on the paint. I realized that I was having a temporary bout of insanity when I considered painting the bedroom green. I don’t even like the color green. Why would I do that? Today has taken me in a whole new direction…currently considering Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray or Benjamin Moore Reverie Gray. Both are more “greige” colors. I’ve also received some great suggestions on Twitter for similar shades to try. In the meantime, my painter is wondering if I will EVER make up my mind. 😀

Let’s take a break from paint and talk food. Last night’s dinner was so delicious. Parmesan and panko crusted tilapia with herb roasted potatoes and roasted asparagus. Warm sourdough with butter on the side. Mmm…How’s that for getting back to cooking?

Breakfast this morning was courtesy of Starbucks between taking and teaching yoga. I had the monterey veggie egg sandwich. I don’t eat these often but they are really good. I mean, how can melty cheese and egg on soft warm bread ever be bad?

I LOVED starting my week by taking and teaching early yoga. I subbed a class and it was perfect to get a practice in and then have the opportunity to give back to others by leading them through practice. I felt so energized and happy when I left the studio and headed into work.

I did a little CrossFit after I taught deep stretch at the gym tonight. It looked like a good cardio workout and it was. (AMRAP = as many reps as possible)

I was able to finish three rounds of the pushups/pullups + 5 pushups, four rounds of the ball slams and box jumps and four rounds of the ab mat situps/burpees + 2 situps.

Sullie cheered me on and said, “more burpees mom!”

Hope you guys had a great Monday!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
