I love Sundays. They inspire me. Always.
I woke up before my alarm so I had some time to lounge before teaching my 9:15 hot class. I made espresso and oatmeal and got back in bed. It was a gray, rainy morning so it was so cozy to hang out in bed. (And that’s one of my favorite books of 2012 on my nightstand, Broken Open. Highly recommend.)
Oat bran, Silk Nog, dried cranberries, bananas, pumpkin pie spice and chia seeds with pumpkin butter, peanut butter and cranberry sauce.
I was so happy (clearly!) to walk into the studio to teach class and see that my friend Maddie was face timing into my class. She just moved to Chicago and I miss her sooooo much. I went a little off the beaten path today with this morning’s message, quoting the Avett Brothers and Conan O’Brien.
I recited one of my most favorite Avett quotes ever and then played the song to start class.
And then spent the rest of class talking about this quote from Conan O’Brien. He said this in his last show on NBC when he was getting totally screwed over. Pretty amazing. It really is as simple as this.
Lunch after class at Whole Foods was an extravaganza from the salad and hot bar. I was seriously craving veggies after making dinner out of artichoke dip, sausage and cheese Rotel and cupcakes last night at a party.
I spent the afternoon meeting with a new PT client, braving the mall (anxiety-producing…my god!) and pulling off major baking fails. I had to make cupcake batter and salted caramel sauce twice because I messed them both up the first time. I abandoned baking to go to a yoga class but got turned away because it was full. I went for a Christmas light run instead and it was so nice. I saw some pretty impressive inflatables.
Safety first, reflective vest. It was 65 degrees for my run. I am so cold natured so I love the mild weather but it’s a little weird to run and look at Christmas lights while dripping sweat in the middle of December. Doesn’t feel very holiday-esque.
I’m always downloading new music and found this awesome 27 minute mix on This Song Is Sick. It features some of my favorite songs and is perfect for zoning out on a short run. The download is free. Check it out!
And finally, dinner tonight was boring but good and comforting. A tuna melt with avocado, kettle chips, carrots and apple slices.
Such a good day.
