The Holiday Rush

Not gonna lie, I had a little bit of a sugar hangover from my cookie dinner last night. My stomach was definitely not feeling so great this morning. I think two nights in a row of party food instead of real food wasn’t the smartest thing. Oh well, tis the season and like I let it stop me from eating the cookies that I brought home after lunch today… 😉

Breakfast bright and early at my desk was overnight oats. I had to turn in payroll early this pay period due to the Christmas holiday and I wanted to get it knocked out first thing. I used Dorset Museli as my “oats” base. I picked up a box at the grocery this week and I’m really liking it mixed in with Greek yogurt.

I had to run errands this afternoon and Charlotte is a complete stressful holiday zoo. Traffic is terrible and all the parking lots are full. I had to practice lots of yoga breathing. It’s partially my fault for waiting until the last minute to do everything so I can’t complain too much! Luckily, I came home to find a giant box on my doorstep from Blue Diamond with all the almonds a girl could possibly want.

Lunch was a turkey avocado pita with tomato soup.

While I was eating my Christmas gifts arrived. I’ll be spoiling the surprise for some but this book is just too good not to share. Read it now.

Oh and I did a little Christmas shopping for myself today. I swung by Erin McDermott’s studio to pick up a special gift for a family member when I spotted these. Merry Christmas to me!

Have a wonderful weekend! And do a little something to treat yourself! 🙂

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
