Jewelry // Food // Workouts

Happy Wednesday! My day is off to a fabulous start. I subbed a 6:30 a.m. hot vinyasa class. Nothing brings me more joy early in the morning than helping people to start their day with a yoga practice. It’s just as therapeutic for me as the teacher as it is for them. Who needs coffee when you have chaturangas and backbends to wake you up?

Another bright spot in my week was stopping by Erin McDermott’s studio to pick out a new piece of jewelry.

Many of your might remember me writing about Erin before (check out this post for a full background) but she’s a crazy talented jewelry designer from Charlotte that I’ve connected with over the last year. She’s the one who designed and made my “Om Nama Shivaya” necklace that never leaves my body.

The best part about stopping in to see Erin is visiting with her bulldog Sukie. She was modeling all kinds of necklaces for me. Isn’t she adorable?

Erin told me she has been really into clovers lately and had quite a few necklaces and earrings showcasing them. I ended up choosing this long gold necklace with a clover and white stone. I think it will be perfect for the summer and that I’ll be able to wear it with so many things.

Erin recently launched a “Luxe Box” program where you pay upfront for a year’s worth of jewelry. She sends you a new piece every month. She said the response so far has been overwhelming. It makes me so happy to see her succeeding! She totally deserves it and has worked so hard to get to where she is now.

Side note…I am ALL ABOUT seeing people (especially fellow women) pursue their dream professions and succeed which is why you’ll frequently see me feature friends and others I’ve connected with when they’re doing awesome things like this.

Lots of pretty new things on the blog this week, huh?

Let’s get back to the stuff I’m really good at. Food and workouts.

Homemade pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, Italian chicken sausage, mushrooms, spinach, sundried tomatoes, artichokes and mozzarella cheese.

Chobani pear yogurt, bananas, museli and sunflower seed butter with Awake Tea.

Soup and sandwich.

Regarding workouts…

Monday – run 2.25 miles on treadmill and CrossFit

400 meter run (cash in)

4 rounds
12 Box Jumps
12 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls

400 meter run (buy out)

Took me a little over 12 minutes. Pretty slow compared to other females but SDHPs are not my strong suit.

Tuesday – run a 5K on the treadmill and bodyweight circuit

Loving this little circuit.

5 rounds
25 air squats
15 crunches of your choice (I did Bosu crunches)
10 pushups

Super quick and comes out to a nice even 100 squats, 75 crunches and 50 pushups.

Have a great day!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
