A Better Sunday

How can you not smile when you get to look at this face all day?

Please look at those paws. I need to take her in for a trim but I love her little slipper feet so much.

Today was a better day than yesterday.

Starting with a new nut butter at breakfast this morning. Reginald’s sent me some of their nut butters to sample. This morning I tried the cinnamon molases cashew butter. This was the first time I have had cashew butter and I loved it! The texture and taste were great. I am looking forward to trying the nana honey peanut butter too! All of their products feature real fruit and natural extracts and include no added salt or preservatives. I love all of the creative flavors they offer.

I spread the cashew butter on cinnamon raisin toast and topped it with a banana.

I taught my normal Sunday morning yoga class and brought them popsicles for a treat. I think they kinda loved me for it. I covered another 90-minute hot class this afternoon for another instructor and after three hours of teaching and sweating in a hot room, I was totally wiped out but in a good way.

I came home between classes for a quick brunch. I made an omelet with two eggs, goat cheese, spinach, basil, tomatoes and smoked salmon.

A couple of hours after teaching the afternoon class I finally got up the energy to go for a run. Sullie was desperate for some exercise and I wanted to get some fresh (not 100-degree sweaty yoga studio) air. We only ran three miles but it felt really good.

Dinner after the run was a spinach salad and brown rice pasta with chicken sausage, mushrooms, sundried tomates, marinara sauce, parm and basil.

I needed frozen yogurt tonight. This was the first time I’ve had it in months and it was everything I dreamed it would be.

Hope y’all had a good end to your weekend too.

xo

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
