Happy Saturday.
Coffee and an orange mango smoothie after a 7:30 a.m. superflow hot yoga class. I wanted to get my practice in early so I could enjoy the day and get to the farmers market before it got too late.
The farmers market was full of beautiful local strawberries. I got a whole quart for $3.
There was a vendor making fresh pork rinds and kettle corn. I sampled a barbecue pork rind (seriously reminded me of my childhood!) and then he insisted on giving me a handful of warm kettle corn telling me, “it goes great with coffee.”
All the goods…farm fresh eggs, strawberries, kale, strawberries, squash, bok choy, eggplant, basil, spinach, cilantro, parsley, vidalia onion, shrimp and bananas. The bananas, eggplant and herbs came from a produce vendor and not a farmer.
I taught a yoga class at 12:30 and then headed over to the Plaza Midwood neighborhood for VegFest.
I had high hopes that there would be tons of delicious food there but the food options were pretty limited. I did pick up this raw kale, quinoa, broccoli and carrot salad that was pretty awesome.
I also grabbed a vegan chocolate peanut butter cupcake that I am very excited to try!
Now Sullie and I are chilling at home, paining nails (mine, not hers!) and watching Selling New York. This is my first time really watching this show and it’s good!
And finally I must share this photo collage with you! This is my friend Ashleigh’s golden Delilah. Ashleigh posted this on Facebook with the caption, “For six years, Delilah has not been allowed (or should I say, hasn’t chosen) to get on the couch…let’s just say I choose my battles when it comes to her and dog disobedience.” I told her that I had to share Delilah on my blog and she said, “I’ve always wanted Delilah to be famous. And it’s pretty fitting, because she LOVES peanut butter… I will leave out the runner part.”
🙂
Hope you’ve had a great Saturday!
