I feel like I’m finally starting to recover from last week. It was a short one but so jam-packed. I didn’t get home from work until 7 on Friday night so I took Sullie out for an easy run so we could enjoy some fresh air after being cooped up in the gym all day.
And then proceeded to make dinner out of dry Italian salami, manchengo, grapes, goat brie and crackers along with a big bowl of sweet cherries and a glass of red wine. I watched the movie Side Effects which was just okay overall but the plot did totally surprise me. Has anyone else seen it? I do love Jude Law. 😉
The highlight of my Friday was arriving home to find my May Luxe Box from Erin McDermott Jewelry in my mailbox. I opened it to find the most perfect earrings. They are SO me! Can’t wait to wear them out.
A quiet Friday in meant that I was up and at the farmers market right when it opened at 8. I think that is a first for me and I couldn’t believe the selection! Definitely worth the early wake-up to get the good stuff. Check out this beautiful butter lettuce that I picked up.
I quickly came home from the market, grabbed Sullie and dropped her off at the groomer and then rushed to meet a friend for yoga. We took a 90-minute hot class from Suzanne (my yoga mom!) at Charlotte Yoga and it was exactly what I needed both mentally and physically. There were a few tears mixed in with the sweat but it felt so good to practice next to my friend and with Suzanne leading the class. I had to head over to Y2 Yoga to teach a class after my practice. I felt so grounded and focused on my students.
Lunch after class was a salad featuring my local lettuce, salmon, dried cranberries, toasted walnuts, strawberries from the market, avocado, goat cheese and homemade honey dijon balsamic.
Look how cute my sweet girl looked when I picked her up from the groomer. She was in desperate need of a little trim but don’t worry…those grinch feet will grow back!
I spent the rest of my afternoon at Nordstrom Rack (post coming with those goodies soon!) and then planting more herbs on the patio. I bought a cilantro and basil plant at the market. My herb collection is complete…Italian parsley, mint, oregano, thyme, rosemary, basil and cilantro. Good news…I’ve kept all of my herbs and flowers not only alive but thriving for a whole week!
Serious question for my gardening readers…I potted the cilantro and basil in the same planter. It’s pretty big but will the cilantro take over the basil or is it okay?
Off to walk the pup and then SUSHI!
