On Swirling and Expanding

Type, delete. Type, delete. This is how so many of my posts start. “Hey guys, Happy Tuesday!” is NOT working for me today. Blogging is difficult sometimes because there is this whole life thing going on behind the scenes of what I show you every day. And mine has a tendency of late to look pretty messy despite my efforts to keep plugging in all the holes. So I’m going to stop trying so hard to plug in the holes and let some things flow out to make space for growth and expansion.

I have so many things swirling around right now. That’s really the only way I know how to describe it…ideas, goals, visions…but I am admittedly so stuck in the hamster wheel of life that I haven’t done much about the swirling. It’s reaching a point where I feel like I’m going to jump out of my skin if I don’t start taking steps towards giving it attention.

I have had these glimpses of ridiculous clarity over the last few days that have nearly brought me to tears about where my passions truly lie. One thing we talk about in yoga all the time is how things are constantly changing. People change, places change, experiences change. We have to be willing to grow and expand with them or be left grasping at the straws of what something once was. You can either be scared of this change and let it stop you in your tracks or you can say, “Bring it, Universe.”

I’m saying bring it.

And now some other things for you to read that will hopefully resonate with you. This is a good week for blog world. People are getting real.

Life’s Formula by Teri at A Foodie Stays Fit

“Here’s what I do know:

Focusing on the positive is important.
You’re luckier than you realize.
You’re more talented than you think.
People love you. And believe in you. Get them to tell you why sometimes. It helps.
Comparing yourself to others accomplishes nothing.”

IVF and Running by Kristy at Run the Long Road

I am inspired by her perseverance and connection with her body and what it needs. Congratulations, Kristy. My heart bursts with joy for you!

That Time I Decided To Run Off To Mexico by Sierra at Posh Meets Pavement

Sierra is going on a yoga retreat. Solo and sans makeup, technology and distractions.

Why I Burned My Journals and Celebrated My Insignificance by Danielle LaPorte. (Did you really think I could get through this without a Danielle mention?)

“I love my present and I love my future. I love the vastness of my past. But I’ve found that investing in the future has way better ROI (Return On Investment).”

Onwards. That is truly the only place we can go from here. Grow, expand, be kind and be grateful.

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
