Puppies & Pizza

It’s after midnight. I tried to go to bed but it’s 77 degrees in my house, the air conditioner sounds like a freight train and I can’t sleep. So hello! Clearly, when the AC guy told me the motor could “go any day now” he wasn’t kidding. 😉 I’ll have to take care of this ASAP tomorrow. In the meantime…I know many of you live in climates/areas where central AC isn’t the norm. How do you deal? Especially at night? I am extremely cold natured in general but at night I heat up like a furnace!

Sometimes I wish I had the ability to sleep like Sullie. She’s got sleeping super powers…she can pretty much make herself comfy and pass out anywhere, any position and any time….especially when it’s on me.

I had a long day of teaching CrossFit, work and appointments so I wasn’t able to get to  yoga. After a couple of rest days I wanted to do something so I decided to go for a late evening run. I was actually craving the solitude and Sullie and I covered almost 4 miles. It felt effortless for the first time in months. My reward was pizza and a beer from Brixx for dinner after my run. Maybe a slice of cold pizza is what I need to lure me to sleep?

Just wanted to say hi and I hope Monday was kind to you all. I’ll be back with more tomorrow.

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
