Violet Love {Giveaway}

Happy Monday! I’m over here battling delayed onset soreness from Saturday’s workout that is so bad that my yoga practice this morning consisted of me taking the few chaturangas I did decide to do on my knees, no handstands, no backbends, no arm balances…nadda. I did feel better after I did some stretching in the heat though. My other Monday highlight has been finally getting my AC repaired after three service calls and a hefty (but not worst case) bill. I’m so happy to finally have it fixed though. Sullie was threatening to move out on me. She’s shedding like CRAZY. Sullie requires fully functioning, arctic cold AC during the summer. 😉

7.14dinner

I had a summery dinner last night. Blue cheese burgers with leftover risotto and roasted asparagus.

7.15breakfast

Post-yoga breakfast this morning was scrambled eggs with avocado and watermelon.

And now…I have a fun giveaway to brighten up your Monday! The team from Violet Love sent me a package with headbands for me to test and to share with a reader!

7.15headbandcollage

Violet Love headbands are designed by Rebecca Michaels and promise no slipping and no headaches. I was really impressed by the selection of colors and prints that they offer. I had a hard time narrowing down what styles I wanted to test but I ended up with the four above. I have to disclose that I’m not a huge headband wearer but I could not resist these bright and stylish headbands. When I do wear them it’s usually for yoga to keep my crazy hair under control. I really never wear them for running or CrossFit.

7.15orangeheadband

I decided to keep the orange and aqua for myself. The orange was a no-brainer for me given the amount I have to wear for work. I wore the patterned headband to yoga last week and received so many compliments on it.

7.15blueheadband

I gave the teal a test drive in another super hot and sweaty yoga class on Saturday. I’m very excited to report that I didn’t spend the entire class fumbling with the headbands and they didn’t cause any discomfort. I forgot that I was even wearing them!

Now, who wants the purple and other patterned headband? Leave a comment telling me about your strategy for keeping your hair under control when you workout and I’ll choose a winner at random on Wednesday! Giveaway closes Tuesday at midnight. U.S only.

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
