Happy Wednesday. I hope that y’all are having a good week. It seems that everyone I have talked to is really busy with work, final summer vacations, etc.

Just checking in today with eats + workouts from the past few days.

Screen Shot 2013-08-07 at 2.32.46 PMI did this workout on Sunday along with 50 GHD sit ups after and couldn’t move for the next two days. If you are looking for a new way to challenge yourself with squats and cardio…try the 2-for-1 wall ball. It had my heart pounding and my legs burning.

I have been yogaing every day this week and that’s been feeling good for my sore body, although up dogs are not the most pleasant thing given how sore my abs are from the GHDs. I can’t believe how sore they make me because they don’t hurt that bad when you’re doing them.

I couldn’t sit in front of my computer any longer so I did hop into a spin class at the last minute last night that a friend of mine was teaching at the gym. And you know how I feel about spinning. I was a sweaty mess at the end.

Breakfast Tuesday was Chobani Pineapple with granola, peaches, banana and peanut butter.

And breakfast today was a homemade spin on Whole Foods’ Double Green Smoothie. I went in the store this morning to get one but decided that I needed to stop paying $6 for smoothies and just buy the ingredients to keep at work. I did invest $20 in dates, almond butter, almond milk, etc but it was worth it.

Here’s what went in this smoothie…

1 cup coconut milk
1 banana
2 cups spinach
1/2 cup blueberries
3 dates
1 tablespoon almond butter
Handful of ice (maybe 1/2 cup)

We have a VitaMix at the gym so it can handle the dates and makes smoothies with really great texture.

8.6lunch

Lunch Tuesday was a salad extravaganza from Whole Foods (you don’t even want to see my mint.com WF category…). I couldn’t resist adding one of their amazing sweet potato biscuits to my plate.

8.7lunch

Today’s lunch was a cup of chicken tortilla soup along with some salad and half a chocolate chip cookie.

8.6dinner

Tuesday dinner was so good. Stuffed chicken with swiss and prosciutto and spinach and artichoke.

8.6veggies

And a whole bunch of roasted veggies from the farmers market.

Now time for a quick cardio session, coaching CrossFit, teaching yoga and hopefully taking yoga. 😀

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
