It was so interesting to read everyone’s take on introvert v. extrovert. Reader Laurie encouraged me to check out Susan Cain’s book, “Quiet” and also to listen to her TED talk about the power of introverts. I will definitely be using one of my Audible credits for Quiet and I’ll let you all know what I think. Laurie said it changed her life. In the meantime, watch her TED Talk. I love these things and frequently listen to the TED Radio Hour while I’m running or walking with Sullie.

My Wednesday night was pretty lovely. I took a friend’s yoga class and then went over to her house after to hang out and chat.

8.22chocolate

We ate sushi, drank yummy Spanish and Argentinean wine (highly, highly recommend both Alamos Malbec and Honoro Vera Granacha for great tasting value reds). I also picked up a couple interesting chocolate bars. One peanut butter and banana milk chocolate  and another goji berry and pink sea salt. Yoga + wine + chocolate + sushi on a Wednesday night? I’m a lucky girl.

8.22erin

I taught a yoga private this morning and then walked over to see Erin McDermott to pick up my August Luxe Box item. As always, she had so much amazing jewelry to choose from.

8.22earrings

I ended up taking these colorful earrings home with me. My eye was instantly drawn to them so rather than spend all day trying things on and trying to make a decision, I went with my gut. I like the months better when Erin picks for me! 🙂

8.22erinsukie

I love chatting with Erin and visiting with her cute and cuddly bulldog, Sukie.

8.22salad

Lunch today was a salad with mixed greens, arugula, pecans, beets, dried cranberries, goat cheese and salmon with balsamic. It’s one of my all time favorite salad combos.

Guess who is actually on her way to go teach BodyPump!? Did you forget I even do that? The group schedule shifted at the Y so we’re now on rotations with our co-instructors rather than teaching every week together so I only teach a couple of times a month now. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve Pumped so I’m going to be all kinds of sore tomorrow. I can’t wait to teach! I love this class so much. I’ve been teaching BodyPump for FIVE years this August. It was the first group class I ever started teaching and I’ve now been through 20 releases. Crazy! 🙂

Have a wonderful evening!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
