Hola! I’m in the Dominican Republic until Monday but wanted to check in while I wait for room service to bring my breakfast. Then I think I’m going to take a long walk on the beach followed by a massage and then laying on the beach reading. It’s a tough life here. The wedding was last night and it was perfect and SO fun. I’ll do a separate post later but you can check out some Instagram pics for a sneak peek.
I have tons of stuff coming up for you on the blog this week – recipes, workouts and more! Right now I am going to do a quick recap of the week in workouts. It shows how I modify workouts when I’m pressed for time (earlier this week when I was getting ready to leave for my trip) and vacation workouts.
Here we go…
Monday
90-minute hot vinyasa yoga class
Tuesday
20 minute AMRAP on my own of…
400 meter run
15 step ups to 20 inch box
21 ab mat sit ups
I finished 5 rounds + 1 run
Wednesday
REST – travel to Georgia and hang out with my grandmother!

THURSDAY
20-minute tabata workout (at the early hour of 5:30 a.m. before heading to the airport!)
Friday
75 minute vinyasa yoga class at resort
4 mile treadmill run with sprint and hill intervals – they have a great little gym here at the resort
Saturday
30 minute treadmill run with hill and sprint intervals
100 front squats with 25 lb plate, 100 stability ball crunches
Sunday
Beach walk
How was your week in workouts? Do you workout on vacation? I usually try to do something short and sweet to get me sweating before I head out to the beach for a day of relaxation!

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

I recently traveled to Big Bear Lake, California for the inaugural Big Bear Peaks + Pines three-day stage race hosted by TransRockies Running. This was my third TransRockies event in 12 months (see also Colorado + Moab) and I’m here to tell you that they can do no wrong when it comes to race organization [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
