Hello, hello! I hope y’all had a great week. I am popping in to share a few favorites before I head off to Charlotte Yoga to lead an assist training for our staff.

Let’s kick it off with things I’ve been listening to! It’s been a minute since I shared a round up of podcasts that I’ve enjoyed lately so let’s start there.

9 PODCASTS I’VE LOVED LATELY

  • Deep Spiritual Alchemization after Hitting Rock Bottom with Julie Piatt on Almost 30 – I don’t listen to the Almost 30 podcast but my friend Clara sent me this episode and it was so beautiful and filled with incredible wisdom and inspiration. I’ve now added Almost 30 to my podcast follows.
  • What a real sexual journey looks like (opening up about mine) on I Think I Like You – speaking of my friend Clara, her podcast I Think I Like You is wonderful. Real, relatable, raw, vulnerable and helpful for women navigating the world that is dating and relationships at this moment in time. Here’s the show description: “A counterintuitive approach to navigating dating and building relationships in the digital age. This is for the woman who feels disenchanted by more common dating rhetoric and sometimes even questions if she wants a relationship at all. She already lives a rich, full life. She would like to share that with someone, but not at the expense of herself. What gives? That’s where we’re digging in.” Clara does coaching and women’s groups – you can follow her work on her website or on Instagram.
  • While we are on the topic of dating – I am recently obsessed with the U Up podcast with Jordana Abraham and comedian Jared Freid. It’s both hysterical and helpful at the same time.
  • Hypervigilance & Loss Without Closure on We Can Do Hard Things – appreciated the conversation on finding peace when you don’t get the closure you wish for.
  • How to Change Unwanted Patterns in Life and Love with Vienna Pharaoh on Mark Groves Podcast – this episode was SO good that I immediately bought Vienna’s new book The Origins of You.
  • How to Stop the War Against Yourself – A conversation with Tar Brach and Dan Harris – I adore Tara and like Dan Harris a lot so hearing the two of them talk about this topic together was powerful.
  • How to Fix Our Loneliness with Dr. Marisa G. Franco on We Can Do Hard Things – an extremely insightful look at how attachment style determines how we make or don’t make friends. This was SO interesting.
  • How to Find Good Love After Bad with Lily Collins on We Can Do Hard Things – this was a gorgeous conversation with Emily In Paris star Lily Collins on building healthy relationships with ourselves and others after enduring toxic relationships with self and others.
  • Drew Barrymore ON: Reframing Society’s Expectations of Love and How to Know When to Let Go of an Unproductive Relationship on On Purpose with Jay Shetty – I cannot say enough good things about this episode. I laughed, I got teary eyed, I shook my head over and over in agreement – so good.

RESTARTING A JOURNALING PRACTICE

journaling practice

Let’s go from listening to writing. I was gifted this beautiful journal recently and it’s inspired me to get back into a journaling practice. It’s been a long time since I’ve had one due to some personal reasons but I’m feeling ready to get back to it. I’d love to hear about how you guys journal.

MASTERS IN MONKEY BARS

I’m proud to share that Finn got his MMB at preschool this week – Masters In Monkey Bars! He made it across the monkey bars on the playground by himself for the first time. This is a celebrated developmental milestone and he proudly wore his MMB shirt home from school! 🙂 Go Finn!

SOURDOUGH SUCCESS

homemade sourdough

I’ve been having great success with my sourdough since I got new starter from my dad at Christmas. I was thrilled with how this week’s loaves turned out. The air pockets were lovely and the bread was so soft. I did a longer than usual proof in the fridge (bread went in around 8p and I baked around 2p the next day) and I’ve been using King Arthur Bread Flour instead of All Purpose.

DROPPING BACK INTO MY PRACTICE

jen eddins yoga

I’ve been spending a lot of time on my yoga mat lately. My practice ebbs and flows and I’m really okay with that but recently I’ve really been wanting to be on my mat. I had a pretty strong backbending practice pre-pregnancy but have struggled with deep backbends since having Finn + herniating a disc last year. Recently, I’ve been focusing on getting comfortable in wheel and some deeper backbends again and it’s all starting to come together. In last night’s practice I dropped back into wheel and stood up for the first time in I can’t remember how long…and it felt amazing.

20-MINUTE TREADMILL SPRINT WORKOUT

assault tread workout

From the yoga mat to the Assault Tread…this 20-minute treadmill workout rocked my world this week.

5 minute warm-up

10 minutes of sprints – 20 seconds on, 40 seconds recovery

5 minute cool-down

It’s a simple interval but a challenging one! This makes for a great workout finisher or a workout on its own paired with some core and stability work.

goldendoodle dog bed

I’ll end with this cute picture I snapped of the dogs one morning as we were all waking up. Benji often sleeps belly-up and it’s very cute. Here’s the link to the bed – my dogs love it!

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
