Hey, hey. I have a day in the life post for you today because today was one of those “what happened to my entire day?” kind of days. I had so much work I wanted to get done for Metro and my blog but teaching and training took over and I just ran out of time. How does that happen? I like to share what different days look like for me because so many of you ask about careers in this industry. Today is a good glimpse at what it’s like.

Here’s the breakdown.

Rewind to last night at 7:30 p.m…get an email from my 5:30 a.m. client that he needs to cancel. Say a little hallelujah. Y’all it is HARD to do the 5:30 a.m. classes and clients. There is the biggest difference between getting up in the 4 o’clock hour and the 5 o’clock hour.

6:15 a.m. – train a client. I just did measurements with several of my clients since it’s the beginning of a new year. I’m super excited to share that this client lost 8 inches overall! She’s 9 months postpartum and kicking ass.

1.21smoothie

7 a.m. – come home for breakfast. I usually stay at the gym between this client and teaching my morning yoga class but I decided to come home because I wanted to get some clothes together for later in the day and make breakfast. Green smoothie with banana, frozen strawberries, mangos and pineapple, spinach, almond milk, almond butter, plain 2% greek yogurt and dates.

(It’s not usually like this…Thursday I have 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 clients…today was a treat)

8:10 a.m. – teach a power mixed class at Y2 Yoga.

1.21ashtanga

9:30-10:45 a.m. – stayed after my class to get my own practice in. Practiced ashtanga again and it felt so amazing. I am so recommitting to my ashtanga practice.

11:15 a.m. – trained a client at Metro

12:30 p.m. – home for lunch

1.21saladlunch

Carrot ginger soup and salad with mixed greens, spinach, turkey, carrots, tomatoes, feta and pumpkin seeds with a honey lemon dijon vinaigrette.

1 – 1:30 p.m. – social media work

1:30 p.m. – run to the store for household items and blog prize shipping stuff

2 p.m. – package up blog prizes (baked goods) and get them ready to ship out

3 p.m. – personal training client emails – put together everyone’s measurement, body fat and fitness test data and sent out

4 p.m. – post office to ship blog prizes (always a good time at the old USPS)

4:30 p.m. – gym for a strength training session. Do a circuit put together by another trainer. I seriously need to hire a trainer for myself. Seriously.

5:10 p.m. – shower

5:30 p.m. – personal training client. I’m SO excited to share that this client lost 11 inches and 6 percent body fat in the last year of working with me. She’s been one of my biggest transformations ever and I’m so proud of her.

6:30 p.m. – teach yoga at Metro

7:45 p.m. – meet a friend for dinner

1.21dinnersireds

I caught up with a friend who I haven’t seen in ages for dinner. I had a turkey burger with goat cheese and apples and sauteed brussels sprouts. One of my new year goals is to do a better job at being a friend and connecting with mine.

9 p.m. – Metro emails

9:30 p.m. – edit photos and write this blog post (I have been trying REALLY hard lately to get my blog done during the day so I’m not doing it late at night. Just didn’t work out today!)

10:15 p.m. – Metro CrossFit blog post (I usually try to get this done earlier in the night but dinner out got in the way of this)

So there it is…a lighter day but a busy, busy day! I want to keep writing about what life is like in this industry. Hope y’all like these posts. I will try to share as much as I can about it all with you!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Reading, Watching, Listening (Spring 2026 Edition)

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
